The Depot Cafe

Good food at good prices. The menu is decently diverse nothing too out there. The staff were friendly and attentive and got us our food and drinks quickly. The only reason they didn't score higher were all the flies. Seems to be an issue in North Dakota but still.

Food was good, this restaurant has been impacted by covid I think,so service was slow, but it was super busy and I know they were understaffed. Hood quality, good prices, they just need some patience from customers about staff. I will eat here again!

We left the interstate to visit this restaurant only to find a note on the door that said they would close at 1 pm. But the door was still open at 12:45, so we went to the counter. And of course, they said "we're closed". Generally, a customer is accepted till closing time. Otherwise, please lock the door and put an earlier, more realistic time on your hand written note. Wasted a lot of time driving here but will never make that mistake again.

It's easy to see that the owners have a great love of food and do their best to provide quality, tasty food. There's a reason they're famous for their Knephla soup on Thursdays -- you won't regret trying it! I had never heard of it before I moved to North Dakota but it is so good!

They did not have a lot of the items listed on the menu. One item being cole slaw and we were never offered anything else to replace the side to go with our meal and no offer to reduce the price.. We had to change our order a few times until they had something we wanted. We finally settled on the Philly steak and cheese and what meat was found in it was a little crispy for our liking and the cheese was burnt. The waitress never came back to see us or ask us if we wanted more to drink until we were ready to leave as she handed us our check.

Great food ,very nice and friendly people. Definitely we will go back . All the way from Texas❤️.

I don't get some of the other reviews here but here is my personal experience. I travel for work to towns like this often and I try to find little local places to eat. It's better than fast food and usually they are great little gems. I've been here three times now and this last time was the last. No service for several minutes after sitting down. Once my order was taken I had to get up and find the waitress and ask again to finally get my drink. Usually the food makes up for that kind of thing but every time I've been I get canned, not fresh veggies and this time the instant mashed potatoes were so bad they looked like rice inside when I broke them open to take a bite. Only getting 2 stars because the chopped steak is usually good but that's hard to get wrong. You go to places like this for good "home cooking" type meals but here you're getting worse than cafeteria food. This place, at lunch time, is a giant disappointment.

Traveling through on a Sunday morning looking for breakfast, we saw the picture of the crepes and had to stop for them. Was seated quickly ! Our orders where taken quickly! It was very busy and our drinks never got low VERY ATTENTIVE WAITRESSES!!!!!! The crepes where light and tender very delicious, and the philly steak omelet was quiet delicious. This is a stop for us next time we cross North Dakota

Really good food and a great price.

I thought I would give the Depot a shot as I pass through Jamestown once a week. My experience could have been better. The server seemed to be annoyed that I was eating alone, during the week when working that is how it goes. Her unpleasant attitude continued as I ran out of my drink. I also noticed the other younger servers needed training in communication as a server. The food was just ok, hoped for better. The restroom was horribly dirty, no lock on the stall, rust all over the stall walls. Missing tiles all over the walls very disgusting. Not a fan.
