Hidden gem up Riverside. This fun high-five is tucked away near the river in what seems to be a local business park. They serve counter culture coffee. The coffee drinks are amazing. There is also some baked goods, canned beer and soda, and juice. Definitely worth getting a coffee drink and sitting outside and watch the river go by. Very quiet and secluded. There is no bathroom in the Outpost, but there is one within walking distance.

They always have good hot coffee and a nice selection of espresso based drinks. Food options are limited and be prepared for a wait if you arrive at the wrong time as they aren't set up for volume. Still a wonderful place to grab a coffee and stroll the banks of the French Broad. I stopped by today and enjoy the scenes of an icy river during an unusually cold snap.
They have some local canned beers and a selection of other drinks. I door seating is limited but the outdoor seating is plentiful and quite scenic. Bring a book if you have the time.

Unbelievable location! Right on the banks of the French Broad, so it's like a combination cafe and swimming hole. All outdoor seating right now, and very spread out. Gorgeous venue, happy people, a great dog location, definitely a must see.

Wish I would have taken a photo...I had the most beautiful and delicious vanilla latte with housemade syrup. This off the beaten path is well worth the little search it takes to find it. Plus, on a beautiful day, you can enjoy outdoor seating along the river.

I had the Chai latte which was very good. Walk up out front to a window where a menu hangs on the right. The place looks like a little barn. They also have food. After you order your coffee you go around to the back to pick up your beverage where you wait. You can look at the river it's a nice location. Plus your not piled up on top of everyone.

Perfect setting to relax inside or out. Though outside is way more tranquil.

Good coffee and friendly folks. Plus a beautiful setting right on the shore of the French Broad River. Lots of arts related little shops and galleries in the former mill and factory buildings nearby. Nice spot to have a coffee and just chill next to the river.

Shoutout to my favorite coffee spot in Asheville. I’ve been going here for 4 years now and my drink is always consistent. The baristas are rad people who care about the drinks they make. I appreciate that they make their own mocha sauce and use high quality ingredients.

The coffee, atmosphere, and outside seating are amazing! The barista was helpful and really nice. They put a lot of care into how they make their coffee. I just got a drip and my girlfriend got a vanilla latte. The latte was one of the best she's ever had. 4 stars is for the food. Both the bagel and the scone were super hard and difficult to bite into. The scone was a little burnt on the bottom as well. Overall though the coffee shop is a great place to meet a friend and sit outside along the river to enjoy a nice peaceful cup of joe.

Great coffee, friendly barista, excellent views and a unique if slightly out of the way location along the French Broad River north of Asheville. I'm not sure what it's like in the winter but visiting there in the summer is amazing. I would be totally content working from their back patio and drinking coffee all day.
My friend and I turned up on a hot August day, ordered a couple of iced drinks (the Diablo?), chatted with the Barista for a while and then sat out back along the river.
I love that High Five Coffee has opened up cafes in such different environments (the original spot on the edge of town, then in the center of town and now this one) while maintaining the same high quality for their drinks and service.
