Hours are not consistent. Great place to get a coffee or something sweet, like an ice cream or smoothie. Very pleasant workers and you can sit inside or out with a great view of the oriental harbor.

We ducked in the harbor on cold April morning. The north wind offered us a sheltered harbor, which was hard to resist. My better half spotted the coffee sign across the street as we secured the sloop. We caught a whiff of fresh coffee and dashed inside. I had a mug o' Joe and the Admiral had hot cocoa with marshmallows. A happy crew is a happy boat...the end.

Good variety of coffee, ice cream, good fellowship with humans and dpgs, and a porch with view of the harbor! What more can you ask for? Great way to meet people. Family friendly.

Took like 15 minutes to get a coffee and a sandwich and didn't make my coffee right, I didn't have time to change it as my flight was leaving. The sandwich was so hot I couldn't even eat it till I got to my final destination. Very good after it cooled down.

It's the coffee shop version of Cheers, everyone knows your name! June is a staple, I can't think of anyone else I would rather have burn my bagel 😜. I only wish they would get a more quiet smoothie maker. (But the smoothies are delicious...).

The Bean is small two story coffee shop located near the harbor of Oriental. If you look carefully, you might spot one of the town’s dragons that to reside within the pond near the shop. There is a non- covered elevator located on the left side of the shop for customers who cannot climb the stairs. Drinks and pastries are served in multiple varieties and some items run out quicker than others due to popularity. I especially liked their tea which was loose leafed then prepared for steeping within a paper sachet.
I have one word of caution for someone not familiar with the area. When the rain has been heavy or when the tide is high; make sure you have the proper shoes. The road leading to the shop has a small tendency to flood.

Five star view.
Three star service.
One start food.
I guess people are just grateful to have a coffee place? Mediocre at best.
P.S. don't get the bagels, they're frozen.

Great place to sit back and enjoy watching the boats go by
