Stable Grounds is BY FAR the best coffee shop in Carteret County by any metric you could go by. They brew a wonderful selection of organic Counter Culture coffee which is roasted in Durham, NC, and can make any espresso-based drink you want. The staff is always delightful and obviously passionate about coffee - especially the owner.

Owner was weirdly defensive when asked if pastries were made in house (they're not, doesn't matter, but she was either offended that I asked or lacks interpersonal skills). Also $5.10 for a mediocre Chai tea is a bit steep.

Came here the first time on an afternoon after having a brew next door at Shortway. I ordered an iced coffee drink with flavoring and it was good. Came here a second time and ordered an iced red eye, but I couldn't even drink the coffee. I was a barista for 3 years and I've rarely had coffee so sour and un-fresh. I recall not even hearing the coffee being ground fresh for the espresso. Despite that, service was great and the cafe is cute but needs more consistency in terms of their coffee.

Amazing flavor and service! Their mocha frappe taste like I am eating chocolate covered coffee beans, but in a drink form. A perfect blend of coffee and sweetners.

My boyfriend and I come here every weekend for coffee and breakfast. We look forward to it all week! Today I got a cup of coffee with pumpkin. Great way to bring in fall!
