Food is ok but not something to brag about it is just food. Nothing special. The real issue is the service. We walked in around 12:15 on a Monday and there was only 2 other people there with 1 waitress we ordered and she was kinda rude it looked like she wasn’t having a good day. It took 30+ minutes to get food. Around 1:00 another server arrived and she was nicer. A little bit later 2 people walked in and sat at a table and none of the servers noticed them and after 10 minuets one of them got noticed and then they said they were going to leave and just left. The place is kinda dirty the floors are sticky and at some of the places still have food not cleaned up and are just left to rot. Not happy with this place. 😐 I would rather go to boondocks or any other place in west Jefferson.

Waited 20 minutes for a waitress to take the drink order, then waited another 5 for a menu. At the time their were 2 waitresses, finally another one came on shift and realized we hadn't been taken care of as far as a food order. She took care of us and we waited 30 minutes on our food, my wife had ordered some hush puppies and they were still frozen in the middle. That was our first and last time at this establishment.

Service is great! Food is great! I've been here many times and it's the same :-)
If you're from another town, and you went to eat at a place that caters to the local Folk, this is the place for you.
They treat every customer the same, whether you're from Ashe County or from out of town or from out of country.

Food was good, waitress was pleasnt but service was terrible. Long wait for food to come. Coffee came with cream and sugar but no spoon to stir it with. Had to go to waitress counter and get my own spoon. No napkins, salt or pepper when food was served. Been to three different resturants in Jefferson/West Jefferson and none will I return too.

One of the best places in town to eat. Good good at reasonable prices. Staff is very friendly. This is a very busy restaurant so do not expect "fast food" speed. Worth the wait. Live music Thursday and Friday nights.

Quaint place, service was slow. However, There were many customers there with only a couple servers. Food was good. Handicap accessible. Gives a great home town feel to its atmosphere. They sell local honey and little crafts. Lots of nostalgic photos adorning the walls. Windows need cleaned.

Ok place to eat. Staff were very nice. Only had breakfast. Some of our food could have been warmer.

I loved this place, went there for smithey burgers, got plenty of them to bring home n sat down Nate a great meal. The staff was so nice. Hope they never ever close their doors

Others may give it 3 or 4 stars. It IS a little rough around the edges. However, the food is great and there is free Bluegrass music Thursday through Saturday evenings. Automatic 5 stars from me. I live Bluegrass/Mountain music. You are never rushed.

Ordered the beef stir fry and got some steak and green peppers and onions and mushrooms (no rice on the plate) my wife ordered chicken and rice stir fry no veggies and got only peices of chicken. My son wanted chicken tenders and fries and apple sauce (tenders were burnt) with the coupon for the second meal free from the school the bill was still $23.00 + change drank my lemonade which was only refilled after I requested it after waiting for 20 minutes (notice we were the only ones there) Also I have been there 3 other times in the past 2 months and I have left due to the fact that the waitress were so slow they would seat us take our drink orders and 15 minutes later still no drinks. My time is valuable and so is yours so don't waist yours too.
