Honestly not as good as the ratings indicate. Sure, it's kitschy and quaint with interesting ocean art but the rating should be based on coffee. Iced lattes were watery and the espresso wasn't flavorful. The scone was hard and stodgy. Just not a great experience after waiting in a long line, I hope next time will be better. Also it'd be great if oat milk could be added to the menu.

Love the upstairs view. Good coffee, price is comparable to other shops.

Ashley's is -- without exaggeration -- the best coffee place I've ever been to; if there was a higher rating than five stars, I'd give it in a heartbeat.
My wife and I spent a week with our three kids (5 1/2, 3 1/2, and 4 months) in OBX in July -- so great coffee was a must. Happily (and coincidentally), we rented a house a block or so from Ashley's; I went there every morning (and nearly every afternoon). Amazing coffee, great pastries, friendly people, and an incredibly relaxing atmosphere.

P.S. Everything is superb, but, if you're looking to indulge, try one of the banana hammock coldbrew shakes. Yum.

Ashley has done a wonderful job at everything. The lights, the design, the layout, the decorations, the cleanliness (superb) and the training....she has hired and/or trained her employees to make each cup of whatever you order PERFECTLY! Cute coffee shop with great specialty drinks and baked goods. The art pieces for sale are adorable.

Favorite coffee spot in Kill Devil Hills. Everything I have had to eat and drink has been fantastic and the shop is cozy with cute local items for sale.

Best flakey croissant in the Outer Banks!! Coffee drinks are decadent and delicious as well! It’s super busy so best to get there as early as possible.

First time in Kitty Hawk. Only there 3 days but both mornings found myself getting my morning latte here. Also purchased my wife a pair of neat earings at the register. Such a cool little coffee joint!

If you want high quality, well-roasted coffee (beans), don’t even think twice about stopping by. The cold brew is smooth & cold, the coffee is top notch, and the cold brew milkshake is unreal.

ALSO: they have a large fridge full of really good beer, IPA, seltzers and hard kombucha. A pleasant surprise. A much wider variety than I would’ve expected, too.

Amazingly friendly staff and awesome atmosphere of a coffee shop & roastery. Easily a 5/5.
