The perfect little store in the middle of nowhere! Super friendly people, huge (and delicious) food portions, a variety of items you might need (food, t-shirts, items from local crafters, hunting/fishing licenses), gas, and a wonderful rocking chair front porch where you can relax and enjoy ice cream. This place is everything you think of when you think of old-time, mountain general store. We love it!

Surprisingly good food! The general store itself was okay, the ice cream looked like it had been there for years, the brands were largely knockoffs, and there's more pipe fittings than almost anything else in the store. I get that they serve the locals there, too, just not what I was expecting.

It was a cool stop at the bottom of the mountain after all the tight curves on the rattlesnake! The lady working there was very sweet and went above and beyond helping us buy shirts in the correct size, all the while telling us some amazing stories! If you the chance, ride the rattlesnake trail....

This place rocks!!!! If you find yourself ANYWHERE close to this gem, treat yourself!
Family owned and operated. Could not be nicer people to chat with. Plus the food here is fu@@*ng amazing. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING is homemade and fresh. The day we visited even the mint in my wife's "mint tea" was hand picked the night before on the family property. How much fresher can it get? The truffle fries....are making my mouth water even now (weeks after eating them)
THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE ON UOUR LIST OF PLACES TO EAT. Im sending Drive ins, diners and dives (not sure this is still a show but he needs to get here too) a recommendation to stop here

Great place to stop on a ride on 209, and either continue up 209 to Max Patch or Hot Springs, or take 63 towards Asheville.
Fun little store, well stocked, and a decent little cafe. Service is good, food is not bad either.

Visited this wonderful establishment on the corner of creek between hot springs and max patch , the couple that owns the trust general store greeted me and my partner upon Arrival, we both were looking for nice spot for us for lunch we gracefully found the trust general store we both were happy we found it, we ordered food from their restaurant a burger and fries and hush puppies with a delicious cold made from scratch lemonade, all and all I enjoyed the scenery and eating the meal they provided for us I was truly happy we spoke with the couple after leaving me and my partner will be returning we had such a lovely time .

Stopped here with my husband yesterday for some lunch and it was GREAT!!!! We had the fried chicken sandwich, meatloaf sandwich and their cajun fries...which were my favorite, delicious!!! We met the owners and they were very friendly and the service was great, not a long wait at all. Definitely try this restaurant!!!

A little of everything. A general store. Prepared food ready to cook. Camping supplies. A gas station. Books, t shirts, touristy stuff. Stop by. The staff is very friendly.

Great place for a pit stop while motorcycling. Ethanol free gasoline, clean rest rooms, cold soft drinks, rocking chairs out front on the shaded porch. They also serve hand scooped ice cream.
