Got there on a Wednesday morning as soon as they opened. Dark roast brewing was delicious, iced vanilla latte was made right and tasted good, Cherry mocha and American were yum. Beautiful view of the sound across the street with a nice clean table area to sit outside and enjoy your beverage or sandwiches, snacks.

We found this cafe half way through our stay and we wish we found it sooner. The coffee is delicious and we had the best peanut butter cookie we have ever had. The online ordering is super easy and they have it ready for you when you get there. There customer service was really good too. We will be back next time!

As I checked in at Barrier Island Station last weekend, I noticed that Outer Bean Cafe had now moved in where a tackle place used to be. I was thrilled, because I was hungry and thirsty. The owner was present for my first visit and then a couple wonderful, helpful assistants on my next visit. The coffee and brownies that I chose were just what I needed. They are new in that location- so spread the word and be sure to "Duck in" there when you are on Duck Road and thirsty or hungry for something health and tasty.

Other than the cool name “Outer Bean” this place is not welcoming. Talking to the girl in the order window was like talking to a wall. I ordered an iced americano reiterating “iced” then she asked again hot or iced I said iced lol and you guessed it my drink came out hot! Then waited 25 minutes for avocado toast and a bagel with butter. Had no idea when our order was ready because there’s no loudspeaker for names to be called out so listen closely and don’t go far.
Being a window only restaurant with a bad cashier (at least today 7/29 8:40am) completely turned me off . I won’t be back. There’s plenty of places with coffee just drive another .02 miles and you’ll have a better time . Coffee was good.

Great iced coffee and breakfast sandwich. We got our food and drinks within 5 minutes. Even has a view of the sound across the street.

Convenient and cute location. Smoothies are good and so is the coffee. I did try to order 15 minutes before they closed and they told me I couldn’t, that everything was already cleaned. If businesses advertise a closing time, they should honor it.

Not at all what I expected. This is a walk-up place that has a few picnic tables and that is it. I got a yogurt bowl and smoothie and my boyfriend got a different smoothie and a breakfast sandwich. His sandwich wasn't even toasted, the egg and ham not really warm. My yogurt granola bowl was good, the smoothies were alright, but really nothing special. I wish we would have tried the coffee instead? I will say a woman commented on a price (not even angrily) to her husband, and the owner responded with an attitude talking about how much she spends on the coffee she buys vs. Starbucks and what they pay. Which as a business owner, I get, but that's not how you communicate it to your customer who was speaking to her husband anyway. It made for a slightly awkward situation.

Visited three different days during our stay this week. Coffee is fantastic and I enjoyed both the Hot Latte and Iced Frappuccino. The view of the sound while you wait is amazing! We will be back next year!!!

I don't know about Outer Bean Cafe Duck but on the other side downstairs there is an amazing Tye Dye place it's called Tye Dye It Yourself. They have shirts that are already dyed with Outer Banks on it and you can also customize it yourself.

We went for breakfast on a Friday. It was fantastic. We got a few breakfast sandwiches and some breakfast granola. The fruit was very fresh! and the people were pleasant to order from.
