Summit is great. Just visited today for the first time since I was a student at Davidson years ago. Still great coffee and I love the upstairs area. Keep up and keep expanding, Summit!

Went there four times in the last three days, overall pretty great! Their service, atmosphere, and especially their coffee is awesome in the morning, a little bit off at lunchtime and afternoons. Still one of the best coffee places around, will go back again.

I've never been disappointed with their drip coffee. They've got a nice variety and many are organic. In the summers they bring in line music and beer specials in addition to their normal taps. They've got a great upstairs if you are looking to relax. If you are a fan of the Davidson farmers market, I highly recommend a coffee while you browse.

The coffee and tea is great if you drink it fast. Otherwise it gets cold in their big cups and they have no way to warm it up. The downstairs tables are cramped instead of cozy, but outdoor seating is nice and there are a lot of outlets for charging.

After this being the 3rd visit and the 3rd horrible experience I had to write a review. The staff really takes their time and seem to be lazy, I have been told they didn’t have a drink just cause they didn’t want to make it. Today I went in for the first time in a year thinking I would give it a try, I was the first person in line and no one in the coffee shop as I’m waiting for coffee it starts to get busy they served 6 different costumers before I finally had enough and asked for a refund, the girl said she didn’t know how. Left me sitting there for another ten to figure it out and was still unsuccessful. I had to call the bank to get a refund. If you want a beer and a nice patio to chill on maybe this place could work for you. But don’t bother coming here if your a coffee enthusiast or have other plans that day.

Nice coffee house in a beautiful part of town with a rock climbing theme. Sip your delicious coffee from an outside table and watch the townspeople go by. Bring your well behaved dogs... Every third passersby will pet them. A lovely place to spend an hour or two with friends - both the two and four legged kind.

Summit is a local coffee shop with a great atmosphere and friendly employees. They truly care about coffee, and I always look forward to seeing where their beans are coming from on each particular visit.
It can be easy to miss, but be sure to check out their upstairs and back patio!

I'm bemused at the negative reviewer asserting they think the coffee here is terrible. To me, Summit is one of the four best places I've been to in North Carolina for coffee -- I'd put The Dripolator in Black Mountain, and Parker & Otis and Cocoa Cinnamon in Durham in the same bucket. Besides always enjoying the drip and espresso coffees I get from Summit, I really love the sense of community, from the friendly interactions with staff and other clientele, to the fun but competitiveness of Monday night trivia. It's the social heart of Davidson and a great place to go for coffee.

Summit Coffee is always a great place to enjoy a good cup of coffee and some time with friends. While the first floor doesn’t have a lot of room, between the upstairs and the area outside, it makes for a great place to hangout.
