Was in town visiting and asked around for a place to enjoy a good cup of cocoa with the kids and I was told Espresso News was the place to go. My 2 kids thoroughly enjoyed their hot chocolates, the wife said her Mocha was great, and my iced latte was at least 3 times better (and half the price) than the Starbucks alternative. The baristas were super friendly and the place was full of young, studious college-goers that are probably going to put off having kids for another 10 years after having to endure my 2 little hell raisers (and all the chaos we brought into the cafe). Would definitely stop by again on our next trip to Boone.

Great coffee, great place to stay and do work. Very cozy, and offer 4 types of alternative milk. Also offer a variety of muffins and scones, typically have at least one vegan option. Great location near campus and favored by locals.

My go to spot for coffee any time I'm in Boone, and has been ever since I was a student at App a decade ago. Once they re-open the second floor, it's the best study space in town with the best coffee to match.

A nice place to have a rest, coffee is more than decent, I would prefer american coffee than the espresso and cappuccino, coming from Italy and tasting coffee is always an hard challenge, they are sufficient, but not good. In the opposite, muffins are amazing, super good. A nice place to go if you like coffee shops.

Fantastic experience! The barista was so kind and efficient. Even though the place was a little busy she got things done so quickly to be tending to the place all by herself. Coffee tasted great too!

I enjoyed a well made cappuccino this afternoon while working on a project and waiting for a friend. The wifi was strong. There seemed to be just as many people working solo, like me, as there were socializing, and so it felt very welcoming to me. I noticed that there were many choices available for pastries - even a savory choice. There seemed to be more than enough seating for any patron who might want to sit down and stay a while, although I did learn later in the day that downtown was less busy than normal, likely from today's super strong winds. I found the staff to be highly professional and helpful. The atmosphere, which is just as important to me as the coffee, was bright and uncomplicated, as was the conversation that gently filled the space without becoming intrusive.

Decent coffee, good space. The muffins are downright delicious and made in-house. I am not even a muffin person and am still dreaming about the double choco vegan muffin...yum

I don't really go to coffee shops for the taste of the coffee. I certainly avoid bad tasting coffee, but I don't get very technical about it because it mostly tastes good to me everywhere. With that being said, I'm no expert on coffee, and I highly doubt most people are either. This is why I go to a coffee shop more for the atmosphere. E news has such a unique vibe to it with all it's nooks and comfy spots scattered around up stairs. It's like if you want to be anti-social but not alone but also don't mind bumping into an ex or two, this is the place to go. The coffee and baked goods taste great too. I've never had any issues with the employees, but none of them stand out with their service either which is kind of how I like it when I haven't had my cup of joe yet. If you haven't been here, you have to go because of the experience. If you've been, keep going and find yourself a nook to sit in for hours while you read or do homework. It's therapy.

Busy Appalachian family weekend Sunday! Thankfully this nook of a spot is hidden from the masses. Coffee selection is superb and fresh made muffins and scones (Feta and Rosemary!?!) are stellar breakfast options. Thank you ladies! You helped us start our day right :)

Nice local coffee shop in Boone. Cappuccinos were very good. Location is not great and small seating area Only have a view of parking lot - and only 3 parking spots. But worth it for a good cup of coffee.
