You have to try the iced blackberry lavender mocha . BEST COFFEE DRINK EVER! Great vibes. Stay in their living room and sip your drink and listen to music. Loved it.

House turned cafe with a distinctly artsy vibe and a slightly agro twist. Don't expect the coddling of corporate America here. If you don't know the deal, you may get sternly asked to stand in line and pay but they don't call this battlecat for no reason. Their mascot is a cat wielding a knife, so take that for what it is. The coffee is delicious, the bagels are crispy and tasty and there is some rad art on the walls from local artists. If you have a few extra bucks, you can flip through a collection of prints and support an artist while making your walls more colorful. I'll come back here next time I'm in Asheville and maybe now that I know the deal, I'll be better prepared for the experience.

Good atmosphere. Coffee was pretty bad, "burnt" being the only detectable flavor. Service was good but not friendly at all (this with the caveat that they were not busy at all when I went)

This has quickly become one of my favorite new haunts in Asheville! Whether you choose to get a coffee drink or a cup of tea, hot or cold, you're getting a handcrafted drink that's going to give you true bliss. The shop itself lends plenty of rustic and artsy charm to a rustic, artsy area of West AVL, and you find yourself in a cozy environment regardless of whether your sit inside, or outside on the patio.

Not to mention, the staff here are incredibly friendly and make you feel like they've known you a long time. We always feel super-welcome anytime we walk through the door. If you've never been to BattleCat, make your way over there as soon as you can. You won't regret it!

Always good coffee and a nice place to hang out. We usually order breakfast from Tiger Bay Cafe (in the same building) then get a coffee from BattleCat. Plenty of seating inside or outside.

One of the best coffee bars in Asheville. They always have good specials and it's a definite bonus that they share a building with Tiger Bay Cafe

Chaotic, quirky. Drip coffee was meh. GF muffin had sticky texture, decent flavor. Ordering and paying for food separately at 2 different windows is a hassle.

Great coffee with a great variety. The have vegan options and a fun artsy environment. Maintains a younger crowd and is usually packed. But a fun experience. You can hang out with friends and the workers are very kind and helpful.

artsy coffee shop away from the heavy tourist traffic of downtown asheville. excellent options for coffee beverages, whether you prefer classic black coffee (which, by the way, is locally roasted at pennycup) or my personal favorite, an almond milk miel latte. if you’re hungry, their bagels at the attached tiger bay are delicious (especially the lox one). it’s vegetarian & vegan friendly. allergen friendly. baked goods at the coffee bar as well. one of my favorite other aspects is the unique local artwork that’s displayed about and often with pieces available for sale. outdoor seating available.
