Wonderful bar, coffee shop and bookstore. Great selection of beer (including a smoked ale) and excellent (Counterculture) coffee. Good food, friendly staff and nice space. What more could you ask for, other than a good selection of books. They have a sister venue (Kingston Bread) which is also worth a look.

Great beer, great books, great coffee, great people and more in a beautifully restored really really old building. All sorts of great events here too!!!!

This place is an absolute gem. The best coffee (Counter Culture), the best bookstore, and the best team. A day with a trip to Rough Draft is a good day.

Emma Johnson

excellent coffee, fabulous books (found Jo Ann Beard's latest book of essays!), and super cozy: inside and out. a must!

Great spot to grab a coffee, beer, wine, cider and a good book. Events occur often. Ideal spot for an intimate conversation, getting some work done or a date! They also have events and its a great community gathering space. Rough Draft is awesome.

My favorite coffee shop and latte in the Hudson Valley. So cozy

One of the coolest concepts for a bookstore. Whether you are getting a beer or a coffee it is a great place to get a drink, do some work and hang out. Great, purposeful selection of new releases, and also has some great bakery treats. There is a rewards card if you are a frequent customer, but if you are in the area just to visit, it is a must stop in Kingston!

This is the place you wished you opened yourself. You know, the place with a fabulous coffee & bar, cafe, & bookstore, in a cool & beautiful space? This is that place.

They serve some outstanding coffee as well as other drinks here. Had a totally amazing croissant as well. Took my stuff to get back on the road and checked out the book racks & tables on the way out, wanted to buy though didn't want to wait on the cafe line just to buy a book, so unfortunately I never got it. Wish they had a quick check out near the door, would be my only suggestion. Other customers were not in the hurry that I was, clearly enjoying the beautiful space, bookstore and cafe. Definitely looking forward to returning when next in the area.

Awesomely unique and cozy bookstore with a great selection of beer (and food which I didn't try). It's in a historic home site which was built prior to the revolutionary war. Huge floor to ceiling windows let in the sunlight and add the to the charm.

Like dying and discovering that you’re now in bibliographic heaven.
