Good food and coffee. Nice atmosphere and the staff are friendly and nice. Only criticism is to have a little more standardization on orders. Ordered their breakfast sandwich on 2 different days and was made with different cheese each time. Even though the menu says it will include goat cheese, we got cheddar on day 2 without notification.

Since moving from Ithaca to the Northern end of the lakes, I was SO happy to find Monaco's Coffee. I love the environment (clean, artistic and calm) and I can tell how much care the owners put into the business.
The coffee is great! The drip is delicious and the refills are well-priced. The espresso always has good flavor. A small critique would be that the espresso drinks don't always come out the same, which I suspect is due to a range of barista experience amongst the staff. That said, it always tastes good.
The pastries, which are made fresh next door are fabulous. One of my favorites are the handpies which come in savory and sweet varieties. I'm also a big fan of the breakfast burrito.
It's great to have a dependable cafe like Monaco's in town for locals and visitors alike!

Keeps changing hours, are you open before 8 am or not? Very frustrating to show up and yank on a closed door.
Update: Thank you for the response and I see you have now updated your google hours to 7:30 am. It is frustrating that I was there a few minutes early and was still in my car when apparently you opened but had no idea and the employee let me sit there so I left. Thanks again.

Great little specialty coffee shop! Every espresso drink I've had has been right on the money and service has always been swift. Great place to support local!

When I moved to the FLX area last year, I was a bit disappointed that we had 1 Starbucks in the area (Canandaigua). But this area has AMAZING coffee houses throughout and Monaco's is one of them. The coffee is wonderful. And the service terrific. Looking forward to trying a food offering next time in Geneva. So Starbucks fans, put this on your list!

In a town completely lacking in good quality coffee shops, this is a treat. The interior is perfectly suited for casual hanging out with ample space, and things to pass the time. Try their breakfast sandwich but the avocado toast is best-
but add an egg. Their food is underestimated and should be tried. Coffee is good, but food is better.

If this isn't the most helpful hint for what's wrong with the service at this place, then I don't know if they're ever going to get it.
The staff there hate their jobs. Not sure why. Doesn't seem like that bad of a job, but during downtime they are very vocal about how much they hate their jobs which then manifests into antagonism towards customers. It's difficult to say exactly what will trigger a unified front from the staff toward any given customer, but the experience will definitely leave you wondering. It could be that they feel slighted by people wearing masks or that they've never had any other real jobs and so are having a difficult time processing the fact that they are at work, but the fact is that at some point or another, the staff will, to their credit, band together to deliver bad service to one customer. This isn't just my experience. When you're done reading this, go and check out the other negative reviews.
The fact is, no one goes here for the food or the coffee. Every local is aware that they can get everything on the menu at Wegman's and just make it yourself at home. So if service is what you're selling, then maybe talk to your staff and let them know that there won't be a place for them to hang out at if it's closed because people realize that things are bad enough in the world without a barista taking their frustrations out on your tea.
And if the response this gets from management is in defense of any part of this negative review, start the countdown.

Friendly service, superbly crafted iced lattes, delicious homemade pastries which change daily, inviting comfortable seating areas

Cute but overpriced. $8 for two little pieces of avocado toast. Literally just bread with a thin smear of avocado. It wasn’t even fresh as the avocado had turned brown. At that price at least throw on a tomato or use a whole avocado!
