I’m not one to leave reviews generally, but during an extended stay in town I visited Monaco regularly and found this place to be EXCELLENT. Coffee is great- but so is the food. Cool vibe, but not too so cool you may feel awkward. Students, professors, artists, senior citizens and moms with toddlers all happily rub shoulders. Games like Jenga and books available. Good music choice, but never too loud. Lots of space. Eclectic look. Great service.

Josh, the owner, is there every day trying to get everything right- and I believe he has. In the Starbucks Society, nothing beats the ambiance of a really good independent cafe. And this one is hard to beat. Enjoy.

I was so disappointed in this place! We tried out this coffee shop on 7/21 around 12:30. The coffee shop as a whole has such a fresh vibe and the decor provides a great atmosphere. However the employees are very standoffish and honestly judgemental. They did not greet us, which to me isn't a huge deal. But when I thanked them twice, once for taking our order, and then again when I picked up the coffees and I get no response whatsoever, that is just a bit rude. The coffee also tasted watered down. We got the honey lavender latte and we were not able to taste the honey or lavender. I also did not like that they had a sign posted saying that if you give them a good review and show it to them on your next visit, you get a free coffee. Makes me wonder how many of these reviews are legit.

Well I read the reviews that said the staff was less than welcoming but decided to try it anyway. Will not go again. Shop was not busy at the time I went there so that's not an excuse either. Coffee is just ok. Tastes a little watered down. Service was horrible. I walked up and was not greeted in any way. I was however looked up and down and stared at until I said hi and ordered. I said thank you at the end of the transaction and got no response. Said thank you again when my ordered was called and again no response. Just the overall vibe and attitude of the coffee shop makes it one I wouldn't want to visit again. If you want a simple coffee from a local place go downtown to Geneva gelato.

A hidden gem of a place. Expecting to not find any coffee worth drinking while out here, very pleasantly surprised to find Monaco's. Has that highly desirable feel of of a local hang out combined with good coffee and relaxed vibe. Wouldn't feel out of place in Portland or San Francisco. The historical buildings nearby make this worth seeking out if your visiting.

Wonderful place to stop for breakfast and coffee. My husband ordered the honey lavender latte and it was super delicious. I got a drip coffee and it tasted amazing. A must stop for coffee lovers.

Laid back, simple, comfortable atmosphere with great coffee, great tea, tons of seating and a friendly staff. Love this place!

Just visited Geneva for the long weekend and actually ended up coming here twice! Great drinks and food selection. The food tastes really fresh and I loved that their breakfast sandwich is unique and made with goat cheese and cooked spinach. Unlike many coffee shops there is also ample seating indoors so you're not forced to take your coffee to go or awkwardly wait for other people to finish eating and get up to snag their table.

We will definitely be visiting this coffee shop again when we visit the Finger Lakes in the summer.

The staff at the order counter eyeballed us when we walked in which was surprising and a little weird. Fun decor and very classic coffee shop vibes. But, if you are looking for a "hello" or "can I take your order" and even a "thank you" then this is definitely not the place for you. Average coffee on top of it all.

A quaint exterior and beautiful nearby Seneca Lake portend what should be a wonderful coffee experience. However, my first (and last) visit to this coffee shop demonstrate that misery can abound in even the most unlikely places. The coffee was very good, but was served with a total sneer--pretty much the worst customer service I can recall having in recent memory. The clientele honestly seemed as equally unhappy as the barista. The unhappiness level was in the air. It was palpable. What gives? Is there something in the water in Geneva? Is this attitude the result of an ancient Seneca curse on coffee brewers? I don't know...but what I do know is that, as an enthusiast who prides himself on seeking out the best coffee shops in out of the way places, I'd fire that employee in a heartbeat (who was also providing training, mind you)...not only did she give my coffee a bad after taste, as an unwitting ambassador of Geneva to this newcomer, she gave the entire town a cast it may not deserve.

ETA: Thank you for reaching out. My wife and daughter visited an hour before you closed last Monday, 5/9. We were served by a short brunette. There were two other workers, but they were/seemed under the gal who took my order. It was my second time through Geneva, but my first time stopping anywhere in the town.
