The theme is well done and not overwhelming, very welcoming place and the staff is super friendly. Latte and Croissant were good! Place is worth the visit. I live 30min away if it was closer or i am near the area would definitely go and come more often.

Creative coffee offerings with comfortable seating and an immersive airplane theme! The cold brew drafts here are particularly unique. Try the Voodoo if you're up for a kick of strong spices and flavors. I had the hot Butterbroo, soo creamy and smooth! They have decaf options available too. We'll have to come back to try some of the cascara flavors! The bathroom was spacious, artsy, and most importantly, clean.

This place was so delicious! I visited today for the first time and was super impressed with the innovative menu. There are regular “standard” coffee shop drinks such as matcha, chai tea latte, regular lattes and a plethora of pour over options too. But what drew me and my boyfriend’s eyes is the coffee soda and the “science” section. I believe I got a Mayan Latte cold which tasted so good- who knew cayenne, chocolate and expresso would be so good! And my boyfriend got the Brooklyn Coffee soda and that tasted pretty nice as well! The best way to describe the coffee soda taste is getting a hint of seltzer at the end of the sip. It may not be for everyone, but it was fun for us. In addition, the prices were very reasonable- considering most items were around 5 ish dollars (cheaper and better quality than Starbucks). The store is getting renovations and is very popular, so prepared to be in a line ( it goes by relatively fast) and out the door. I love knickknacks too and I got one of their tumbler mugs also because I loved the design. The mug was fairly reasonable too- around 27 bucks with tax. I definitely will get my use with it and will love to stop by this coffee shop when I come back to Montclair! I really really look forward to the renovation works to be done!

papers plane coffee co is both a great coffee shop, and an experience! I believe the owner was working at the register. he was super knowledgeable, kind, and thoroughly explained the drink menu (their drink menu is super fun, I love their coffee concoctions and crazy drink flavors that I normally wouldn’t try). while waiting for the drinks to be made, the decor is inviting and completely unique. their coffees matched their decor: creative and comforting! this is one of my favorite coffee shops not just in NJ but anywhere

UPDATED REVIEW (Jan 2023): The coffee is very good, absolutely high quality. They just took over a larger space adjacent to their prior location, which allows for more indoor seating, which was lacking in the old space. Highly recommend giving this coffee shop a try!

One of my favorite local coffee spots around! I’m generally a pour-over-no-milk-no-sugar girl at home, and their beans are great for that with a satisfying spectrum of flavor profiles and origins. Getting a basic cup to go is great as well, but their menu has some unique, creative, and delicious options as well! I am a thorough fan of the Rusky. The Mayan is also good. With the choice of oat milk as well as the standard brown sugar, it tasted and smelled like graham crackers to me (I liked this). I wish it had a tad more heat (spice) for my taste, and next time I might ask as the staff is always friendly and helpful. The opening of their new space around the corner is so exciting and very well done! I imagine things might be busy for a little while as everyone comes out to see the great work they’ve done, and I’m sure everyone is getting used to things being in new places. Everyone is clearly working hard but they’re still cheery and kind!

i stopped by here for the first time yesterday. I always see long lines to get in this place and I'd read some pretty decent reviews so I wanted to try it for myself. As I wasn't working yesterday, I decided to come at an off-peak hour to avoid the long lines. I got there around 2:15. But even at that hour, it was still crowded with limited seating. The theme of an airplane was surprising in that there is an actual area that looks like you're sitting in the cabin of a plane. Really fun. The staff were super friendly and offered me a sample of a new drink they will be introducing soon.
I ordered a chai tea latte which was not the best, but to be honest it was partly my fault because I asked for vanilla to be added and they put a little too much and it was too sweet. This and the fact that it is so crowded with limited seating is the only reason I did not give it a 5 star rating. I normally rate on Trip Advisor but the shop didn't come up, so I'm rating here. I normally frequent Trends as it gives that traditional coffee shop feel that I love. But this is a nice alternative if you don't mind long lines and limited seating.

My boyfriend and I love this coffee spot! It’s so cute, the staff is so friendly, and the coffee is good. I only wish the Tainted Love, February special, was a permanent item! It was so good. Definitely recommend going here. And hoping dogs are allowed in again soon - I know they’re working on this point so we’re very excited to be able to walk our dog and grab a coffee at the same time!

Super cool theme, and love all the options of cold brew coffees on tap! We tried a chicory one on tap that was delicious. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and even offered us some samples to help us make a decision. A great stop!
