Gilchrist at Tropicana Atlantic City

Love this diner! Great good, great service, and great prices. One our favorite breakfast stops when we’re in AC.

Perfect place for breakfast. The food was great, staff were wonderful and the prices were budget friendly. I ate their every morning during my 4 day stay at the Tropicana. I highly recommend 👌 ☺️ 👍.

I was very pleased with everything that they had to offer other than their drinks selection was lacking. I believe they ran out of several things, but I understand that everything is a supply chain issue. In the current world. There was a pro/con offset the pro being the blueberry pancakes were absolutely exceptional, but the con were the grits which tasted like paste. So I'm giving it a four star overall because they tried their best and the pancakes were that banging

Host and guy at register were both rude! Never going back! Coffee was bitter, scrambled eggs were dry. The only good things were blueberry pancakes and bacon…. I’ll be going to The Gilchrist in Gardner basin from now on.

I love this spot (Grits on the menu), discovered accidentally, a must whenever I’m in Atlantic City👌🏾

This place have been in existence for 76 years.. Great food great service

First time eating at this restaurant at the hotel. Food was a 8/10. I ordered the bacon egg n cheese sandwich with home fries. I wish the home fries came out hot. They were warm. Overall the food was good. The waitresses were friendly and excellent. Only gripe is that tables were too close. Need alittle more space between tables.

Breakfast is always a must here when we go to AC! Friendly waitresses / waiters.

Waited ten minutes for the waitress to notice us, people who sat after us were placing their food orders with coffee in hand before she even acknowledged us. Once she got there we only saw her one more time to bring our drinks. A different waitress brought our food and also dropped the check at the same time.... weird... anyway no one ever came to see how our food was. It was horrible. My wife's waffle was so cold the butter wouldn't melt. The plate was actually warmer than the waffle. My pancakes were about as flat as a quarter, even though the add outside the restaurant showed nice big fluffy pancakes. Honestly it was such a let down. The service was terrible and the food was low quality. Such a let down

Don't do yourself the disservice of eating here. They are making food from the box and calling it homemade. The Chelsea gastropub has a better view, similar prices, and hot food. Go there instead, its on the 5th floor, the food is absolutely amazing. The hype around Gilchrist is manufactured. The food doesn't match the pictures and what they are serving is horrible.

We thought eating at the Gilchrist would be a good way to end our trip.... It wasnt.

The host and waitress were very nice. My mom couldn’t wait to take me to this restaurant but I wasn’t impressed at all. The turkey sausage tasted like it came out a frozen box, the eggs were very bland yes I could add salt/pepper but they had no taste at all, the pancakes were too thin not fluffy, my wife grits were cold etc. I wouldn’t eat here again even it was free.
