Gilchrist at Tropicana Atlantic City

2 Hot Cakes cheese eggs with sausage was A1. But more the Hot Cakes light and delicious with a good outer crust to it. Will definitely go again my next go round in AC. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE

I’ve heard so much about this place and I had really high hopes, seen it on YouTube and everything. We came last summer, but the line was out the door, which gave me even more high hopes! We went for breakfast I ordered the meat and cheese omelette with bacon, and I had the option to order home fries or grits. The omelette was just okay (nothing special) My husband ordered the home fries so I decided to try grits for the first time. He had the hungry man combo #2, his choice of meat was sausage links. The place was more of like a mom and pop which is more then okay, I love mom and pops! The food was just okay, if that. ☹️ I hate to say it, but the grits had absolutely no flavor at all, no seasoning on the eggs, or the home fries. It was very, very plain. I gave this place three stars, because the service was great! All women working together as a team, which I LOVE to see and they were all wonderful! I will definitely give this place another chance just to try the lunch/seafood, but not breakfast.

Stop looking around for breakfast! This will be your goto spot if you’re willing to make the trip sense it’s at the far end of Tropicana on a local street.

I had previously assumed Coastal Craft at Harrahs was the best in the area until I came here.

First off the coffee was not like any other, less caffeine potent and very smooth/light taste. The eggs were done medium just as I like em, the bacon was crispy, the potatoes were toasty, and I’m not one for pancakes but hungryman comes with them so I got the Banana Pancakes and they were slamming. My girl loved her French toast as well with a side of bacon.

On top of our waitress being attentive, the entire staff was as well ensuring we were good every few mins. Everybody was on the same page working unison with 100% satisfaction guarantee.
I did not feel uncomfortable here at all. Felt just like any ordinary customer which I loved about the place being fact me and my girl are Hispanic and Black. They treat everyone the same here and for that if I can give more than 5 stars I would.

Last thing which is the icing on the cake is the price point, every other breakfast in the area the bill was no less than $60 but here I paid $28 (2 individuals) for amazing food, excellent service, chill atmosphere, and outstanding staff. If they doubled the price I wouldn’t even care, hopefully they don’t increase the price lol.

Def plan to come here again sometime soon when I revisit AC.

This is a wonderful restaurant!!! Husband and I enjoyed the dining experience and the food to the nth degree! We are locals and usually go to Gilchrists by the Atlantic City Aquarium. Gilchrists there is also a super place.... the food, the staff and the setting! This Gilchrists has a wonderful staff also.

At this Gilchrists (off Chelsea Avenue & Pacific,) the manager at the podium is extra-friendly, entertaining and accommodating. We have to again say that our food was excellent, service was super, the whole staff was very friendly and most accomodating.

It was a great dining experience !! My only gripe is that there is not enough seating in the waiting area. At times, there is a 20-minute wait (well-worth it!!!)

Big hello when we got there, coffee on point. Friendly attentive service. I had the hungry man’s breakfast with scrapple and blueberry hotcakes. Top notch scrapple, crispy brown outside and creamy peppery inside. Eggs just right, over easy as they come. Hotcakes delivered. Jen had the basic BECH (bacon, egg, and cheese) on a Kaiser roll. Happy start to a beautiful day.

Enjoyed a great breakfast at Gilchrist diner. I had the hungry man combo #2 which is 2 eggs, 2 pancakes 🥞 grits and choice of meat. I had the cooked sliced ham. The pancakes are amazing, lite and fluffy with crispy edges. The type of syrup served in a unmarked cannister is Smuckers syrup. (I asked the waitress) They give you a nice small side plate of butter for your order as well. There was a slight line to get in, but the wait list moved nicely. The staff is friendly and the service is fast.

We were a party of 6 and we got seated pretty quick. The staff was really nice. We had two children with us and they understood how we needed to have their food come quickly and really stepped up. The food was abundant and delicious!!

Definitely the best pancakes I’ve had in a very long time, this is a very short walk from Tropicana and I am so happy that we decided to take the walk because the food is delicious and the price was fantastic. Definitely better than anything you are going to get at one of their $30 per person Buffet in any casino.

We were greeted and seated immediately. How once the food arrived the server never came back to the table. The grilled chicken was a frozen and not fully cook no flavor. Had to get up to find the server to tell her that we didn't like the chicken. The manager and staff stood around the whole time talking to on another no attending to patrons

Delicious hot cakes and home fries. Fast service. The best breakfast place around!
