The hotcakes really ARE the best! You can get the traditional breakfast fare, eggs, bacon, home fries. But you can also get some different sides, like scrapple, cod, pork roll and grits. Will definitely try to make a trip here whenever I'm staying in Atlantic City!
Note: It's really hard to find, because you have to go into another building within the Tropicana, and through some empty hallways to get there. But sooo worth the schlep!

The gentleman in the front was so helpful, kind and funny. The servers were friendly and the food was great and came out pretty quick! The wait was not long & they were able to accommodate us with our 2 fur babies!🙏🏻❤️ definitely will return. Our new breakfast spot when we’re in AC.

Gilchrist is a busy breakfast place within the Tropicana, reported as one of the best breakfast places in AC. While you back get breakfast here, it's really nothing special. It's a slight up from Denny's. If you're looking for something exciting or different, there's a lot of other places you can go too, like Casa Taco that's in Tropicana as well.

What a great place. Food & servers excellent. Even the manager stopped by our table to say hello. Best place in AC for breakfast.

Every time I come down here from Philly, I make it a point to stop at whichever Gilchrist I'm near and am never disappointed. The service was fantastic, and they took great care in accommodating my wife's dairy allergy.

My wife and I have had breakfast at Gilchrist's a few times and have been totally satisfied. The food is very good, The staff work very well together and the atmosphere is pleasant.

This overhyped breakfast spot is Mids at best. I grew up in the hood so I know what a poor man’s breakfast looks and tastes like. Firstly the coffee was straight up dish cleaner and chemicals. Eggs had shells in it for protein and crunch effect, pancakes are a hair thin and mostly just oil in the batter blend. Bacon was really good but half the slices were soggy.

In my opinion this place tripped us out because of the good reviews then actually seeing how much of a horror show it is.

The staff and all are very nice and friendly, probably the best thing about this place however it does not make up for the lack of quality in their food & coffee which is the main point of the establishment.

Gilchrist is our go to breakfast spot every time we’re in AC. We take our morning walk every visit from the Hard Rock down to Gilchrist for a delicious, affordable breakfast with the friendliest service every single time. They always make you feel like family and that will always keep us coming back!

Chelsea Tower has this new addition, restaurant follows almost the same operational hour like other locations ( early morning to afternoon)

What a gem this place is, welcoming ambience, sweet waitress, elaborated pocket friendly menu and good portion size .

We had blueberry hot cakes ( heard a lot about those and also recommended by our waitress) and hungry man combo with Cod fish.

Blueberry hot cakes were awesome and cod fish was the best we ever had. Coffee needs a special mention, nothing beats a cup of freshly brewed coffee.

This was our very first visit to Gilchrist and this place truly lived up to all the good things we have heard or read.

Just next to Tropicana Atlantic City and behind the Days inn, a block from the board walk this restaurant is a must visit during your next visit to Atlantic City.

Excellent breakfast!! My Italian omelet was perfect & Hubby loved the pancakes. Great hospitality as well. We will be back for sure. Thanks!
