From a classic traditional hole in the wall cafe. We moved away many years ago but always come here when we’re back in town. Very good and always busy, I rarely give out 5 stars but if you want a good Midwestern down-home breakfast or lunch, this is the place. This is definitely not a yuppy cafe. They close at 2:pm. Coffee $2.00. 90% of all items under $10.00.

Now in a new larger location with the same great food and service.
This place was every bit as good as I was told it would be.
I judge a breakfast place by its biscuits and gravy. Throw in a couple sausage patties and two eggs and I probably can just skip lunch.
Great food demands great service and, again, I wasn't disappointed.
Given their efficiency keeping my coffee topped off, I don't think I drank out of anything but the top half of my cup.
First visit. Blown away. Can't wait to go back!

Eaten here before and the food was very good but the service is beyond slow. If you aren't prepared to wait 90 minutes to be seated maybe go somewhere else. Staff is nice but can't seem to turn over a table to save their life.
Edit: nearly two hours after we left to eat at village inn did we finally get a text saying you had a table ready for us. What an absolute joke.

This is the perfect breakfast spot. Always busy but tables turn quick. Good filling breakfast options for under $10, unlimited coffee refills, and playful wait staff.

Awesome diner!! My first impression was started with a warm greeting at the door and a very impressive decor.... not your average diner at all.
The food was all above par and plentiful but the most impressive part of our visit was the value!
The prices took me back in time about 20 years ago!
The ladies working on the floor (Skylar and Becky) made a great team.... we never waited for anything and they both made us feel very welcomed.
If you are in the area and you don't pay them a visit... you dealt yourself a huge injustice.

Great selection of classic breakfasts and unique takes on sandwiches, pancakes, waffles and sandwiches. Great selection and anyone should be able to find something to eat here.
Food is fresh and super tasty. The only bad spot is that they're always busy on the weekends. Get here and expect a wait. But the wait is well worth it.

Took us almost 30 min to get seated at 12:30 pm, another 10 to get menus, 5 more to meet our waitress. Then 5 minutes to get lunch menus and coffee (cup was broken). Replacement coffee cup was chipped too and waitress served us a helping of attitude when her cellphone chat had to be interrupted to serve us.
Place smelled like it needs a good disinfecting. Small place fillef with elderly, apparently regular patrons finished with their meals but nursing their tables chatting while line of people waiting overflowing the tiny waitinglibbyw
We left.

It was ok. Was disappointed after all the good I've heard. Will try again and get something other than the biscuits and gravy. It was not even mediocre. The waffles sound legit though.

Came here this morning to have brunch with the girlfriend. We were total bums and didn't have a reservation, but at 10:30am on gameday the two of us were sat in about 25 minutes. We ordered on our first server visit and had our food in under 10 minutes...and it was exceptional. Fantastic service as well. Definitely a must have if looking for a great breakfast spot here in Lincoln.

We heard there was pretty much always a wait to get in but it only took them about 20 minutes despite being quite busy. The food was tasty, the service was excellent.
