1889 Coffee House

This is the best coffeeshop in Helena. They have great coffee, are cheaper than most places in town and have OUTSTANDING customer service. The owner is usually around, working just as hard as any other employee and making sure your service is exceptional and you feel welcomed. With everywhere in Montana growing, this coffeeshop still has the small town vibes that make Montana such a special place :)

They were overpriced, didn’t taste good or have any flavor, and didn’t give me what I ordered.

1889 has THE BEST coffee and customer service in Helena. I frequent the store almost daily before work and it’s only a couple blocks away from where I live. I was given the wrong sandwich and call the store and they quickly did what they could to make it right! I’m not a very picky person so it wasn’t even a big deal (: I love supporting local businesses and it’s a plus they are so delicious!

I love it!! All of the staff are wonderful and helpful. The owner is always saying hello and is such a friendly person! The coffee is fantastic, and the food is delicious. I go here almost every day and I have never been disappointed. Bravo!

Great people, great service. They even took it upon themselves (after politely asking) if they could yell my Grandsons name as they delivered his drink. ROWDY. ROWDY ROWDY could be heard. Fun embarrassment

There have been few times in my life where my coffee was so bad, I had to throw it out. Usually that happens at home when I make a mistake like running the same grounds through twice in the coffee maker. Mornings happen, accidents happen, and that's ok, that can be forgiven. 1889 however, charged myself and my girlfriend for 2 of the worst cups of coffee in our lives. The two breakfast burritos we ordered were equally as bad and were thrown out half eaten. Food and coffee that bad does not deserve a second chance. I'd say avoid this place like the plague, but as it has become abundantly clear during the pandemic, that phrase has little or no meaning anymore. So, just avoid this place.

Since moving to town I’ve very much enjoyed going to this location. They have my favorite flavors (which is a hit and miss to find at coffee shops) and the staff is awesome. I’ve become a regular, and though I already have a favorite coffee shop in town, everything about them including the hours makes it a close second!

Very nice place. The owner stopped by to chat with us as we sipped our coffee, and chocolate, and ate our cheesecake. This is not a franchise, but a home grown, we'll thought out coffee bar with a great menu. They have a breakfast and lunch menu. They are open 6AM to 8PM 7 days a week (so far). My Americano was WAY better than I've ever had at Starbucks.

Neat place, good coffee. The BLT would have been excellent, but sadly all I could taste with each bite was a gob of mustard and mayo. I would have taken the side with the condiments off, but it was slathered on both sides. And maybe I have been eating BLT's wrong my whole life, but I am not of the belief that mustard belongs on a BLT. This sandwich did not change my mind about that. Good place, I won't hold the mustard sandwich against them.

My first visit to the new coffee shop. I only had a Mocha, but it was good coffee and quickly prepared. The joint is well staffed and very clean and comfortable. Lots of folks there visiting. I was pleased to see a decent lunch menu, so I'll be back for another visit soon.
