I always look forward to arriving at Silver Gate when Stop The Car is open. The staff are always efficient, pleasant and fun and their coffee and ice cream are the best. Even better when the crew are providing food. Excellent Elk Chili and Cheesesteak sandwiches! Don't drive through without stopping - you won't be disappointed. Thanks, Stop The Car gang!!!

I stopped in for ice cream and when the owner found out that I was a veteran she absolutely refused to let me pay! Thank you for supporting me and others that have served! Your generosity really meant a lot!!! Oh, the ice cream was amazing too!!!

We literally turned the car around and were delighted to find the best ice cream on the planet. Now to find ice cream this good not on top of a mountain. The clerk was friendly and funny we enjoyed her tremendously.

Stop The Car Trading Post in Silver Gate, MT is one of the greatest little log cabin gems outside the Northeast entrance to Yellowstone. The owners, Cheryl & Tom, are super friendly and extremely knowledgable about the park and the general area, and there is a wonderful little treasure trove of unique locally- made gifts and treats, area-themed souvenirs, gourmet coffees, and even gourmet ice cream (seasonal) to be had here. Definitely worth a stop when you're in the area.

Good stop for ice cream near the northeast gate of Yellowstone N.P. Friendly staff and a good selection of ice cream flavors, other treats, and souvenirs.

Exploring yellowstone national park and went out side of park to look for a cupa. Found this place in silver gate and what a beautiful place. Owner welcoming, great coffee and tea along with icecream. Whilst talking to owner another couple also from Australia were in there so an Aussie catch up.
Well worth a stop to try and buy things that are homemade. 😊
