Very disappointed. I drove past Starbucks, thinking it would be nice to support a locally owned place and sit outside and enjoy the nice weather. There were only 2 people working, and they seemed overwhelmed, so I tried to be extra nice. The girl who took my order and set out my drink and food was so rude! It took forever to get a simple bakery product. But that wasn't even the issue. I understand that they were backed up with orders. But, I don't understand being rude for no reason. And, they had no system for identifying whose order belonged to who, then they got all rude if someone dare ask a question about it. It ruined our night. We were stuck there for an hour waiting for a coffee and a bakery item. Totally wish I would have just gone to Starbucks, instead of "bothering" them with our order. I won't be back.

TLDR: Sub-par coffee and food and extremely rude owner (will not be coming back). As an older reviewer said: owner treats customers like dirt.
Today I tried out this café for the first time. I ordered the cold brew which had no taste (it was watered down) and the ham & cheese croissant was not very good (cold in the middle). Even though this was the case, the café itself seemed cozy and friendly (or so I thought). While sitting, an elderly man came up to the counter and asked if the croissant sitting out was the ham and cheese. The owner said to him, "If there's ham and cheese in it, then it must be." That's not so bad, but when the man remarks he doesn't know if this is what he ordered, the owner in a very snarky and arrogant tone told him that, "I don't know what you ordered. You need to know before you come up here. Don't come up if you don't know." The man was obviously hurt and appalled by the comment, as was I. As a service industry worker, I know that sometimes it's very difficult to deal with customers that are not streamlined to the process, but to practically yell at an elderly man who was clearly getting the food for his entire table is not okay! The customer doesn't have to be God, but yelling at him was extremely rude and unnecessary!
When I asked for the owners name (I will not disclose), she confronted me and repeatedly asked why I wanted to know her name. She followed this by saying that she's reluctant to give her name because "people have been writing nasty Yelp reviews." This perfectly reflects the horrible customer service the owner gives to customers (the baristas were great) and the lack of accountability she gives herself when people complain. She also said to me in a very mean tone that, "If you have a problem, say it to my face." Wow. She terrified me and drove me right out of there. I will never be returning to this establishment, entirely because of the owner's bad behavior. Shame on her.

This is my favorite coffee shop ever. This was the first time I’d ever been, and I had such a great time and a delicious coffee. The short haired older woman who took my order was sweet and conversational and the staff was friendly. Can’t wait to return.

Pleasant neighborhood space to meet up our enjoy a quiet few minutes. Since the last change in ownership, the coffee quality has become somewhat inconsistent. Not all baristas are adequately trained. I was there several times over two weeks & had okay iced coffee, good hot coffee, two excellent lattes, & two awful lattes (one tasted like burnt beans & the other was half a cup of bubbly foam).
They often have musicians in. Some are quite good.

Great cafe. Stopped in here late one night while visiting in-laws. Beverages were excellent. Quiet, friendly ambiance. They have live music Friday and Saturday evenings. A good place to relax and chat or do some work.

Love the baristas, but the owners need to relax a bit. Your staff explained the reward card, I don't need a five minute frantic diatribe over the subject. killed the vibe and honestly don't know that I want to go back after that, despite how awesome the rest of the staff is.
Edit: reply to the ownerships rude reply:
The program was never explained to me beforehand, and at most places it's a stamp per purchase. After I was informed of policy I did not ask for a second stamp in a single day. I did stop by a lot less, because the incentive was decreased, but it wasn't out of malice that I reduced my visits down to no more than once a day. As for the almond milk, I did not realize that it was extra, as I would have happily paid the extra charge.
Your staff are kind and knowledgeable, and your products decent (though expensive I always felt they were priced accordingly with the quality). You, though, are rude and I will be taking my business elsewhere. I'm surprised that you would choose to take complaints as a personal attack, something I notice now after looking at other negative reviews.
I would strongly advise you to look at how other companies handle responding to negative reviews in the future, because honestly this manner comes off as a bit childish.
All the best to your staff, but I will not be returning after this unsatisfactory and frankly insulting interaction.

I have been here once before and the barista was courteous and wonderful. However, my partner and I visited today and we're treated extremely rude by I believe the owner. So inappropriate, we canceled our order and left. We really love supporting local businesses and we realize everyone has so challenging days. Blessings thankfulness and love to her and hopefully this is not indicitive of how she treats others.

The cutest and coziest cafe! I have had many matcha lattes with oat milk and theirs is my absolute favorite! I dream about it! 💚💚

I ordered a dirty chai latte and raspberry scone with icing. The latte was pretty good and the scone was one of the best I've ever had. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing, a great space to study or read a book (they have a shelf of books if you don't bring your own). The service was as much as I would expect from a coffee shop, one friendly person who brought me the two things I ordered. They also have their own parking lot which is convenient. Overall it's what I've been looking for in a coffee shop between South City, where I live, and West County, where I work.

Adorable cottage style coffee and tea hang out in the quaint historic district of Old Webster Groves. Lots of natural light. Cute outdoor garden. Under new ownership as of July 2017. They have pastries, soufflés, tamales, soups, sandwiches and occasional live music and they are working on getting their liquor license to serve wine, beer, mimosas and coffee drinks. Can't wait! Super friendly atmosphere. Very comfortable.
