Local Appreciation
It always amazes me how many local businesses Kansas City has that offers wonderful products. The Roasterie features Air-Roasted Coffee made right here in the Show Me State. A tour at the 27th street location, offers insight into the history of this long time Kansas City favorite.
It amazes me how those who go after their dreams, do so with gusto and determination. That’s what happened with Danny O’Neill in November 22,1978 when he picked his first coffee beans in Costa Rica as a foreign exchange student. You’ll learn the history that went into developing his coffee brand in his Brookside home years later.
With his ongoing mission statement to choose the best beans, sourcing them from the local farmers who own and operate their own farms in thirty plus countries, you will see the process that goes into choosing and processing those green beans into air-roasted beans. The tour includes learning about the cupping process and later, sampling cold brew, nitro cold brew as well as how to make French press and drip method coffee.
Overall: Although I’m not a coffee drinker, I enjoyed the history behind this Kansas City favorite, with the cool DC-3 aircraft that’s named after Danny’s mom, Betty. The Roasterie serves tea, my favorite, Wild Berry.

Took the tour, loved it! Would recommend to any coffee lover in the KC area. Taking my Betty's recipe coffee back to Texas with me.

Best coffee in Kansas City! The Roasterie has gorgeous brews that are rich and heady. We love the darker roasts like Full Vengeance but whatever coffee you have here, there are no bad cups. The atmosphere and staff are as amazing as the drinks. A caffeinated experience not to be missed and best made a habit.

An awesome tour and history of KC's own Roasterie Coffee factory. Very informative on what makes the Roasterie's coffee blends unique. Try their Nitro Cold Brew, their is nothing like it.

We did the coffee tour and it was awesome! We tasted and learned both traditional coffee and cold brewing

I BBC am so impressed by the kindness and helpfulness of the staff. I’m so glad to have the space to visit with friends and all of them are great. Today Matt, DJ And I think Hannah were helping and they all were super nice!!

Stopped in from Oklahoma City for work and had the pleasure of speaking with Anna, the manager at this location. Truly one of the kindest people I’ve met, with some of the best coffee out there. A few of the many reasons I’ll be back to this spot again!

I was very surprised to get really mediocre coffee when I came here. The line was very long to get it and it was really expensive, much more than something like Starbucks or scooters. I love the aesthetic of The roastery and how it's a local company but the quality of the coffee is just not worth the price at all.
