Corner Cafe Independence

Had a very nosey customer lady behind us, literally standing and leaning over our food looking at it while it was on the server's tray. She did this nearly the whole time it was on the tray, examining each plate. While she was serving our food. Then hovered over our food, not even a foot over my shoulder asking us what we ordered with a finger on her chin as if trying to decide what she wanted to eat. It was very awkward and creepy for all of us. 😶

Service however was excellent, and the waitress got a nice tip from me.

Date we visited was May 7th 2023 during lunch time. We sat in the silo section, with all my sisters and mom, plus two extra ladies.

The food and service was great! Our server was Lee, and she gave great recommendations. This was my first time eating here, and it was well worth the time and money.

Thank you Independence Corner Café! on Wednesday 05-24-2023 my step son graduated from the police academy and we took him and the family out for a celebratory dinner. we first went to Buffalo Wild Wings asked for a table for a party of nine. We waited a bit and the host came back to say we only have two servers and they are stressed out and we will not be able to serve you this evening. While i appreciate their honesty Buffalo Wild Wings should have put up a sign or closed their doors for the evening. We went to Corner Café, they seated us immediately our server was fantastic and pleasant and the food was amazing. Thank you again for hosting us for our celebration of our sons wonderful achievement. P.S. we even had a hangry 3 year old with us. the hostess was king and gave us packages of crackers to tide the hungry young man over until dinner came. 🥰

03/2023 Had the same meal as below. It's my favorite. Extremely, disappointed again with a huge piece of fat. At least half of one of the sandwich halves I did point out to the waitress. She apologized. Nice, but not her fault. Other than that, food was good and pie was awesome! Service was good.

We had a large party of 20 people. Service was very good. Food came out good and hot. I had the hot roast beef open-faced sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. It was delicious. Only issue was a huge piece of fat in my sandwich instead of meat, which was somewhat disappointing. Coconut cream pie was awesome!

Wonderful staff, great food and a welcoming fun atmosphere. Kid friendly as well. The strawberry pie is so delicious! Give it a try.

Light meal but was good. My sister and I split a club sandwich with fries so that we had room for pie. I had banana split pie and she had coconut cream. Nice waitress. All was very good.

Great down-home country cooking and tasty deserts. Perfect place to eat when you're craving comfort food or pie! Their Coco Loco pie is my favorite, but it's only available on Tuesdays unless you special order it ahead of time.

Wasn't great slow service food was cold when I got it and mgr. Was unapologetic and kinda rude I eat there a lot and usually have no problems but expected to at least be told sorry your experience was bad but nothing .

We stopped in this morning after an appt for my daughter. The servers were very nice and the food arrived hot and fresh. My only complaint was that my grits and my daughters grits were a bit runny and underdone. I ordered the meat lovers omelette and it was good. My husband had the waffle special and he said it was good. My youngest had the biscuit and gravy which she liked and my oldest had the country steak and eggs and she was happy with it. All in all the food was good. If we are on the area again we would eat here again.

Ordered grilled chicken, green beans, rolls and whole apple pie. For the cost of the meal, we expected the chicken to taste good. It didn't. Wouldn't recommend that meal. Apple pie was good.
