Had breakfast. The reviews were really good but our food was not. I had biscuits, gravy and sausage. Sausage was watery and biscuit was dry even with gravy.

Shelly was chef'n it up front and center. The place was hopping! Everything fresh to order and with large portions at a very reasonable price! Outstanding service! People were literally waiting to get a seat! The food and atmosphere is that good! Shelly's goes above and beyond! I true jewel of 66! Thank you Shelly's!!

I can't really give there food a rating because we were ignored while we were there today 1-15-23 at noon time... walked in the 1st time and couldn't get a table so we decided to leave but a nice lady offered us her table because she was leaving... We took her table and never got a greeting or anything from the staff but a local that came in after us got service right away!!! I know it was a local because the staff knew him by name... Sitting here at rich's famous burger restaurant just a few miles down the road enjoying a great great burger called the bacon blue burger and now I'm glad we didn't eat at shelly's route 66 cafe!!!!

Service was fantastic. It's a small but mighty breakfast restaurant in Cuba, MO. Their food is pure Americana. We loved everything they served for the two meals we had there. My wife loved their biscuits and gravy and fried chicken. My daughter loved their pancakes and their biscuits and gravy (and she didn't like biscuits and gravy, usually). I had their slinger for breakfast one day. It was huge and delicious. I stuffed myself and barely got 2/3 of the way through my plate. Day two, the cod sandwich was cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. Their tartar sauce was really good too. 10/10 we will eat there again when we are back in Cuba, MO.

It's a great restaurant open for breakfast and lunch in Cuba, MO. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for simple comfort food done right.

Cuba, Missouri —-

Shelly’s Cafe” (since 2012?) is a Route 66 neighborhood local favorite eatery ...

owner operator “Shelly” workin’ the grill next to grill-master “Willis” (real sorry about the blurry pic Willis 😢) ...

my breakfast “Stack” was enormous & tasty-riffic PLUS great presentation ...

“Been There, Seen It, Done It” over the years of traveling Historic Route 66 (5 times) and always look forward to the Shelly Cafe smiles ...

This nice little diner is on historic route 66 in Cuba, MO. This was only the second time that I have eaten here, the first time for breakfast since it has changed ownership and name. The service was extremely friendly and quick and very hospitable. The food was served quite fast, hot, and was good enough that I cleaned my plate! This is a nice cozy family friendly diner that gives that nostalgic authentic route 66 atmosphere!

Well on our way home we stopped in town due to a bad storm .. found this as a high rating on trip advisor ... you won't be sorry if your willing to wait a little bit for your food .. mostly scratch made and very flavorful .. and they help entertain kids too

Tiny place, but the staff and food were wonderful! The atmosphere is fun and kept us laughing throughout our meal. They have fun signs all over the walls and ceilings.
We had a family of 8 and we ordered a wide variety from biscuits and gravy to spinach artichoke, western, and philly omelets to blueberry and chocolate chip pancakes and their home fries were the best I have ever had. Will be going back next time we go through here for sure.

Great breakfast. Service wasn't the greatest because it was cramped and busy. It's really not a place you would go to have a meal to visit with friends and family based on the cramped space. Definitely a place where you eat and run. That said they have great prices and delicious breakfast. Will definitely eat here again.
