Shelly's Route 66 Cafe

The décor was an amazing dedication to the history of Route 66 and modern day comedy of social media. For example there's a red and white sign next to the door frame; it looks like a parking sign. However, the phrase is something similar to "During fire make sure to exit the building before you post it to social media." You will know what I mean when you go. The food is good but a bit salty. The waitress, who does an AMAZING job is friendly and very good.

While traveling on Route 66 from Chicago to Oklahoma City, we stopped here for breakfast. We had "The Stack" and it was the best meal of the entire trip. When we come back through Cuba, we will definitely stop here again. The decor was interesting and most of it has been donated from patrons passing through on return trips to show their appreciation of the service and great food.

We had an amazing experience. Everything was EXCELLENT. The environment was very welcoming, the staff was friendly, the coffee was *great* and the food to die for. Zero complaints. This place is a MUST if you’re traveling along Route 66.

Food was delicious and the staff was great. If you have time to experience this local diner you won't be disappointed. Huge fluffy biscuits, awesome gravy and the food cooked to order.

Cute place (not a lot of seating plenty of parking) but the food was soooo good. Breakfast special (1/2 order of Biscuit and gravy, 2 eggs, sausage) and chicken fried steak (biscuit (huge and soft!!), hashbrowns, eggs). All for an amazingly low price.

Small, but big on flavor. All 3 of our meals were off-the-grill hot, and super flavorful.

got the unlimited biscuits and gravy for $5.50 and a cup of coffee. great atmosphere and kind staff. 110% am coming back

So glad we found this little gem! Great place for breakfast! Service with a smile and food was amazing!! Made from scratch biscuits everything was cooked to order. You won't leave hungry for sure!!

Perfect "greasy spoon" diner. Authentic Route 66 vibes and decor. Food was really good and cooked well. Small-ish restaurant that was full of patrons. The server was fantastic, friendly, and knew the history of the property and its iterations. No frills food done right.

My wife ordered a patty melt, she said it was Excellent!
I ordered fried Catfish plate with fries. hushpuppies & slaw. It was all Excellent!
Waitress was nice. Prices were very reasonable too.
Will definitely be returning to Shelly's Diner in Cuba Mo.
