Strawberry Cafe

The strawberry salad I ordered was delicious, but I was most impressed with our waiter. He was friendly and accommodating without hovering, and was very knowledgeable about the menu. He even offered to pay for my father-in-law's fried green tomatoes if he didn't think they were the best in the state! My parents were meeting my in-laws for the first time, and we couldn't have picked a better spot. No one inour group had ever been there. It was a laid back environment with good food and great service. We had a ball and will be back!

I had dinner there last week and was terribly disappointed. When I ordered, I requested no pimentos in my martini olives. Not only did I get those, my drink was room temperature. My brother-in-law requested no fries with his shrimp dinner and asked for zucchini instead. He got french fries. I had the grouper special which was luke-warm and had no sauce, not even a lemon wedge. The bread pudding was wonderful but I will not be returning unless it is just for dessert.

The food is delicious and it has a nice date atmosphere. They are known for their strawberry-based desserts and their General Tso's chicken.

Delicious shrimp poboy. The shrimp were fried perfectly & generous portion on sandwich. Great onion rings, iced tea & desserts. Very nice server & chef. Will be back!

My roommate and I dined here yesterday for Sunday brunch. The food was absolutely amazing and very filling. We enjoyed everything we ordered, especially those homemade biscuits. We look forward to dining here again.

Had lunch today with my husband (Sunday) and disappointing is putting it mildly. First, my husband wanted a burger medium well and was told they only do well done 😳. Then he asked for a grilled chicken sandwich, strike 2, they don’t go off menu WHAT? I had a fried shrimp sandwich. Asked for tarter sauce, pretty much a staple in Louisiana, nope, they had no tarter sauce, yes that was strike 3. We are done with you Strawberry Cafe. In my opinion you won’t last much longer Strawberry Cafe. Oh and I brought my concerns to the manager and he was no help at all, even had attitude. 👎

Food was very very good, and the staff was very attentive. Only downside is that the tables are pretty close together (main dining room is a fairly small area) and the acoustics in the place are such that it is a bit loud. Great thing is this place has not lowered its standards over time. The food has always been very very good and the prices are quite reasonable.

Always an enjoyable stop when traveling through central Mississippi. Large menu with excellent selections. I had oysters and they were great! Friendly staff and excellent service!
