Awesome little spot tucked behind some train tracks between NE and Como. Prices are very reasonable compared to some other northeast roasters... The service is great, as the staff never makes you feel rushed. I have had conversations with multiple baristas; the people are just nice.
It's a small operation with high quality coffee and a cafe attached to the roasting facility. They have lunch and gluten free options in their baked goods section. Go. Buy good coffee. Feel good about giving them your money.

A perfect place to do homework due to the quiet, bright setting and plenty of seating. The drinks and baked goods are very very good too (so are the prices). Staff is great. All-in-all, just another amazing cafe/roaster in Minneapolis to go to if you’re looking for a new place to frequent.

A lot of pretense. Also be aware if you forget a mask, they will provide you one and charge you $1.00 (for a $0.10 disposable mask). Dogs apparently allowed at this eating/drinking establishment, does not seem sanitary. Only dissolvable paper straws are served.

Amazing coffee and chia! CJ was nice enough to work with us on explaining honey roasting. Great bunch of people who work there!

This is our go to roastery and cafe, the beans are out of this world flavorful, and the menu items from the cafe are always super tasty and unique. On my most recent visit to restock on roasted beans, I also picked up a cold brew coffee make with oat milk and lavender which was very good...took the first sip and thought WOW, refreshing. My day is never the same if i dont start off with a fresh cup of coffee from Up...definitely the way to get up and take on the world.

Truly magnificent cup of coffee. It’s a delight to grab a cup when I’m in the area.

It takes a few detours, twists and turns to get to this quaint little coffee shop but it's certainly worth the adventure. There were a few road closures that turned us around a few times but we have the Craft Notes Passport and have made the commitment to trying all the places, so turning around and finding something easier to get to wasn't an option.
I'm glad we journeyed on though, this coffee shop was a pleasant surprise. The drink menu was just big enough that you can find a classic version of a drink you're into without feeling overwhelmed with excessively sweet and pricey lattes. Prices were reasonable and they had a few different breakfast/pastry options for your snacking pleasure. I got the everything bagel with veggie cream cheese made in house. The cream cheese is served on the side so you can choose how much creamy goodness you want to load on. I was pleasantly surprised to see how many veggie chunks were in the cream cheese.
For drinks, I ordered a miel. It had just enough sweetness from the honey. My fiancé ordered the black salted caramel latte and it was fabulous. We were there a while and he had a splash or two left to finish before we headed out. He said he almost liked it better cooler so we may have to come back to try it iced.
I love that they're focused on sustainability and all brand are organic and fair-trade. Their beans are roasted on-site daily. This story is made super apparent in their decorations, with images of the villages they've positively impacted on the walls.
It's not the most instagrammable coffee shop in the cities which makes it a great place to go when you just want a good cup of coffee and a place to work or just meet up with a friend. There's no frills but it's not divey. Just a good classic coffee shop. There is a cute outdoor patio with colorful planters if you come when the weather's nice.
As far as the bathroom situation, it was just one stall so automatically gender-neutral there.
Overall a really cute place and I'm glad to see they haven't gotten carried away with the superficial pieces some other coffee shops have - though, don't get me wrong, I love a good rustic aesthetic with a totally unnecessary swing.

Cute little tucked away cafe. Great for variety of reasons - first dates to studying. They have an array of coffee to choose from. Don't forget to pick up a punch card for their loyalty program. Their treats and pastries smelled and looked incredible. Service could be more engaging but they seemed stretched pretty thin. Overall, will return and is a favorite.

I love Up Cafe. Great friendly staff and their Angry Bull beans are amazing!

Ruined other coffee for me. Have to make sure I'm stocked up or sad times follow. Fuego makes some of the best cold brew I've tried. Very reasonable prices considering the quality of the product they put out. Very knowledgeable and it's actually kind of fun to spend some time in the back talking about the different types of beans/brewing methods and what works best for each.
