I have been going to this Cafe since 2015 and I have always loved their coffee and food, but the last year, I have been disappointed with the service and coffee. The baristas are never rude, but definitely not chatty. They want to take your order and thats it. They have amazing pastries, but I am disappointed sandwiches like the bacon jam breakfast sandwich was never brought back. The coffee is always good, although mocha tastes like chocolate milk, hard to taste espresso.

Tried many coffee places around Minneapolis and St Paul for coffee beans. Up Coffee has very high quality beans, and also is very affordable. I prefer the taste to even places like Dogwood or Spyhouse. There always is great variability, and beans are always freshly roasted. Staff is kind.

UP Coffee is one of my most favorite coffee shops in mpls! Very open and inviting staff and atmosphere, dogs are welcome inside which is awesome for some free serotonin while studying. A great place to study, and as of now (Mar 22') its always very quiet in the mornings to get work done. The beans are also roasted in house and are my favorite of all the local roasteries (you also get a great value for your money). Very Covid conscious even after 2 years, they really care about your experience! No pretentious coffee snobs here, just great vibes and even better coffee.

Good coffee and staff! Had a Peppermint Mocha and Blueberry Almond scone. Recommend people go here for something besides typical coffee.

Always as quick as possible (lots of lattes takes a bit anywhere), always fresh, always my favorite. Very nearly the only place I buy coffee anymore

This is the spot to get your coffee beans. Freshly roasted premium coffee without the price gouging like some of the other local roasters. They sell beans in 16oz or 5lb bags (rather than 10oz-12oz bags sold for the same or more than the 16oz). They have the full gamut of roast profiles so pay attention to the level of your roast when selecting a bag. They also list the roast date. If you are unsure what you’ll like they usually have a few kinds to try by the cup at the counter. If you don’t want to drive to pick up your beans you can order online and they will ship them. Coffee drinks are very good here. They have skilled baristas that don’t overheat your milk if you like fancy coffee (which I do). They have a down home vibe that isn’t pretentious. They also have a pastry bar and lots of food options for breakfast and lunch as well. The only thing I wish they had is a coffee subscription.

The fire pit really sold me on it. The welcoming atmosphere of the fire is always a great choice. But their specialty drink selection was on point. I got the lumberjack latte and they weren't kidding when they said it was breakfast all in one. Then I went back for a dark roast drip coffee and definitely didn't regret it.

Update: seems like they got bought out by private equity. Explains what I noticed below, the reductions in staff, and the new upcharges for ice on drinks that are clearly intended to be iced, etc. Very sad to see.

Been coming here for years, it used to be my absolute favorite, but their switch to "Big Train" branded powdered drink mixes for chai, blended ice drinks, and more(?) has been incredibly disappointing. You can definitely taste that it's just a powdered mix.

Their beans are still good, but the cafe experience is a bit disappointing depending on what you get.

I just moved to the area and have been trying out new coffee places each morning and so far this spot is by far the most quality coffee! Their espresso was absolutely delicious. I don’t know if I’ll even keep trying new places now, this shop is outstanding. Service is fast and friendly as well!
