We showed up at 6:40 to the Fergus Falls Caribou location and the sign at the front of the doors said they open at 6:00 on saturdays. There was no notice on the door stating that there was a late start. We checked the drive through next. There was a car waiting in front of us and we sat in line (the two cars) 10 minutes which is unacceptable considering they were not helping any customers and there were clearly employees in this location. We get to the window to pay and the “card reader is having issues this morning and our card needs to be brought to the front of the store to be run”, which is also unacceptable. We paid with cash instead. The employees were also less than friendly and extremely rude when dealing with us. I frequent a lot of caribous and this was by far the worst experience I have had.

Update 5/11/23: I wish I could give another 1 star review but I'll just add to the one I already made in 2022. I still like Caribou's coffee, but their food is still incredibly disappointing, with a new added twist of terrible attention to service. Twice recently I've decided to order a bagel with my coffee: an asiago bagel, toasted, with plain cream cheese. In the past, this order would come as a toasted bagel with plain cream cheese spread on it (as one would expect.) Two weeks ago, I was given a paper bag with a naked bagel and a knife, but NO CREAM CHEESE. I didn't notice til I was already gone and at work. This morning I checked my paper bag before I left the drive-thru, and I could see I was given a naked bagel, a knife, and a cup of cream cheese, thought I was good to go. But when I got to work and opened the cream cheese, it's onion/chive cream cheese, not plain like I ordered. I'm absolutely not eating that. So my bagel today is going in the garbage and I will be taking a long break from Caribou. What a waste of money.

Original 1 star review from Spring 2022: The recent change in their sandwiches is really bad. The breakfast sandwiches used to be fresh and customizable. I used to get a bacon and cheddar on whatever flavor bagel I wanted. Now the bacon and cheddar only comes on a plain bagel and looks like the entire sandwich was taken from the freezer and microwaved. Rubbery bagel, burned cheese, and weirdly different bacon than before. The sandwiches are so bad I haven’t been able to finish the last two that I got. I used to love breakfast at Caribou, now I won’t eat it. The staff told me the change was for “efficiency” and “standardization” across stores - well, it’s gross, and I won’t be eating at your store anymore.

I honestly don’t know why I keep trying with this location, but today was the last straw. I spent a total of 45 minutes here today for 2 drinks and a cake pop. 25 of those were spent waiting in the drive thru with only 2 cars ahead of me. When I finally got to the window I was not acknowledged for several minutes and there no apology for the wait time. One of my drinks was also wrong. I immediately went in store to which I was not acknowledged again for several minutes. The barista who did finally walk up to desk had a terrible attitude and made it seem like it was my fault for my drink being wrong and was very reluctant to make me the correct one. When I did finally get the correct drink it was 3/4 of the way full. When I asked about it I could not get a straight answer. As a former barista myself it’s not that hard to fill a cup up all the way.

This place is a rip off. 2 kids drinks and 2 iced coffees were $28, they nickel and dime you for a squirt of vanilla syrup, waste of money, also took 20 min to get through a short drive through line

Long line. Barista taking our order was very unfriendly. Never gave me a receipt or number. Waited over 15 min for 2 lattes and a black coffee. Went up to afl about it and barista asked me what my number was. I was never given one. Finally got our drinks. If you’re going to be short staffed ( only 3 workers) then put a sign up. Never going back.

Very bad experience at this location. This is a coffee shop located off a main highway with travelers from all over. They had a sign up inside the shop that said "Mobile orders only" or drive through. This location had no staff available to take your order inside. I decided to try and do a mobile order, and 15 minutes later was still trying to sign up, enter in CC information etc. When I finally got to the payment, it didn't allow me to pay for the exact amount, but I had to deposit funds in the denominations the app gave me. So a $6.35 purchase turned into a $10.00 purchase because I had to put in ten to pay for my order. I don't live near a Caribou so that extra money will just sit there unused. I was quite upset because I just wanted a beverage and the fact that this location didn't have the option to speak to staff, inside the store, really made it a horrible and overpriced experience. The coffee was good, but if you are travelling on this road, do not stop here. Go to another coffee shop where you will be able to place your order easily. Please consider staffing your counter or at least having an option to talk to a person inside.

The new manager and assistant manager are amazing people great spirits and provide some of the greatest customer service I've had in quite some time. Made me feel like I was right at home at a local spot even though I'm just passing through

Ordered two seasonal drinks and my spiced chi usual! Everything was delicious, staff was also very friendly! One of my favorite caribou locations!

Didnt have half the drink menu refused to blend anything except a smoothie. When i finally found something they had (an oatmilk honey something dairy free)and would make they gave me what i originally wanted a (cold brew with cream blended with ice ) without the blending resulting in me getting sick because I didnt know to take a dairy pill because the drink should have been dairy free. By the time I relized it it was too late. Never going back . even the staff when asked why they wouldn't blend the drink she said oh I dont like it it gets all chunky and gives me a look and walks away. Um last i checked yall blend the drinks and its what I like bot what u like ur not the one drinking it. I will never go to that one again.
