I love iconic "greasy spoon" cafes. This cafe checks all the boxes; Traditional breakfast foods, (including hard to find corn beef hash) a no-frills, but clean environment and friendly, efficient staff. I love coming here for leisure, weekend breakfast.
Incidentally, I use the term "greasy spoon" affectionately. Nothing about my breakfast was actually greasy. It was all prepared perfectly.

Awesome caramel rolls, bacon, and hash browns. Eggs done perfectly and very attentive waitress. A must stop for home cooked meal!

Super great place. Easy going. Great plates of food. Nothing fancy. Just straightforward All-American breakfast. Better atmosphere. We were welcomed by some regular gentlemen from Alexandria. They were super friendly. We will be back next year when we come for our fishing trip.

On our first visit there, it was late afternoon and it was nice and quiet, with few other visitors. Our second trip was at the lunch hour, busy place, but our service did not suffer for it. Our waitress was very attentive and kept our coffee cups full. The food arrived very quickly even though we didn't order the special. My hot beef sandwich was by far the best I have ever had. Lots of gravy and home mashed potatoes. The beef was cut from a roast, not thin, tough strips and was so very tender and delicious. I regret that I didn't get photos of our meals, as my stomach had other ideas. If you're looking for a "sit down", "mom and pop" type place to eat...this is it!! Prices are great. Portions are generous. Dessert was awesome. Check it out!!
