Jolly Plate

Had breakfast at Jolly Plate this morning. It was busy, but we has a nice waiteess. My biscuits & gravy were falling apart due to watery consistency of the thin gravy. Had them one time before & they were 100% better more sausage too. Hubby's eggs, toast, hashbrowns & bacon were cooked correctly, yet were average. It was disappointing.

Breakfast/lunch place with standard fare. Portions were ample for our breakfast with tasty buscuits and gravy, and pancakes and eggs. Service was friendly and quick, and as we sat at the counter we were able to chat with several servers as they worked. We discovered that they had only been open for a few days which helped to account for the cleanliness and fresh appearance. Our late breakfast was after noon so we saw other customers being served fabulous-looking burgers. We will definitely return to try those. We were very happy to read on their munu that they serve produce grown locally from Little Red Organics of Free Soil, organically raised chickens from McBritton Farms of Ludington, and coffee from Higher Grounds of Traverse City. So, whats not to love? Fresh delicious simple food, decent prices, good portions, friendly attentive staff and a clean and fresh atmosphere. We'll go back for sure.

No personal biase, but this is my favorite place to grab some breakfast and lunch. Wonderful friendly servers, smiling faces everywhere you look, great food with big servings that won't break the bank. Love our jolly crew 🌼✌🏻

Best place to eat in Mason County if you want small down diner type food. Excellent breakfast, and excellent staff. The girls there are the best!

Sadly, a disappointing time. We came in and waited for 20 minutes to be helped and we had to catch a waitress ourselves. Waited for our food for so long and it came out in waves. Half of us were done eating before the rest of the food was brought out. Our waitress was also a little rude when speaking to us and taking our orders. We were, I believe, the only African American customers and we received looks from multiple people during our time here. If I could give no stars, I would. The Jolly Plate ended up not being so jolly for us...
