River Stop Cafe

This place seems to get better and better every time I visit. Originally from Newaygo, I remember when this place opened for business in the late 90s. It has always been a warm and inviting place. The drinks are made flawlessly and honestly have never had anything I didn't like. Being from a larger city now, I tend to visit Starbucks a lot, but it does not compare with River Stop Café. The service is amazing and personable, the drinks are delicious, and the food is great. The pastry case next to the counter gets me every time. They're just sooo delicious. If you're in the Newaygo area this is the place to get your coffee fix.

I just moved here from Florida so my search for coffee was short ,I found this place! Wonderful latte, coffee and food. Staff are amazing, helpful...gonna go again 2day if anyone wants to take me, no car!

Great service! Great atmosphere! And the food is pretty good too! Plus they have micro brew on tap from local breweries. That's also a plus :)

A cute and cozy local cafe with good coffee and a decent selection of food. Everything I've had has been fresh and delicious. Great low-key cafe atmosphere.

Greatest little stop ever!! Great food, service is always good and you can have some local brews that you don't find everywhere else.

Love the complainers on here, have a feeling they are never happy anytime they go out, maybe they would be happy sticking with Mc D's and Wesco for coffee

Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon after a day of boating with 3 couples.
This was our first time in The River Stop Cafe. Food was great, service was great and atmosphere was great. We will be back!

We ordered breakfast and coffee upon arrival. Then proceeded to use their WIFI which was advertised as free for customers. After an hour or so, we paid for new drinks (not refills) and planned to order lunch. Shortly afterwards, we were told we needed to leave because we were "just on the computer" and it was the lunch rush. I understand making space and courtesy would dictate we give up our table to those waiting to eat, but there were three open tables inside plus four outside, and no one waiting to be seated. We are from out of town and staying at a cottage without internet, so it's only accessible to us offsite. That's part of the reason we chose this establishment, which did not post a time limit on the premises for WIFI usage or a minimum puchase requirement. In addition, the way we were approached was very abrasive. We would have happily left without feeling any ill will had the individual phrased the request in a respectful, kind fashion. There is no reason to be demanding or rude even if there had been a wait. We decided not to make additional purchases and promptly vacated our table. We left feeling devalued as patrons and mistreated as people. It's a shame some forget their manners once they go into business. Many places can provide a great meal, it's the service that sets you apart. Customers who have a good experience can be your most valuable asset.

Terrible service with few exceptions. Food quality is declining.
