Service was quick, place is clean and neat. Ppl are super friendly, however the food is not that good. It sounds and looks great but it's dry and doesn't have so much of a taste. I was expecting way more than what I got, I was actually disappointed when I left. It could be a one time error but I don't think I'll go there anymore

SURPRISED. I haven't been here since I wrote a scathing review a couple years ago on Yelp. I'd like to think they took it to heart because this place is much much better. I had the lox plate and some coffee. The lox was really good and they had a bunch of little fun stuff beyond the standard cream cheese, onions and capers. I'll be back. VERY busy in there. Choose your time wisely

Favorite brunch spot in metro Detroit. Amazing quality food and drinks. Usually moves fast so there’s not a long wait for a table.

Favorite brunch place! Food is delicious and fresh, and I love that there are so many gluten free/vegetarian/vegan options!

Very busy at Sunday 11am brunch but food and drinks were delicious. Despite being busy the service was friendly and quick. Fried egg sandwich was yummy!

nice relaxing atmosphere, great food, good prices. the shiitake omelet with bok choy salad was very good, but the goat cheese quiche was excellent. we also had a side of fresh fruit and 3 potato hash.

I'm not sure if I can hang in Birmingham. $4.50 for a pour over coffee, and $14.00 for an avocado and egg on toast. That being said I knew eating in this posh city would be expensive and the food and the atmosphere was great. My friend got a delicious cappuccino with foam art and i had the Ethiopian light roast pour over with fruit pancakes which were delicious. During the week, there is plenty of parking and ample seating. I like the feel of downtown Birmingham, you just have to go in knowing you are going to be spending a ridiculous amount of money, no matter what.

2/18/23 update -- back for another hockey tournament and checked in on Commonwealth again... no change from prior, lively & fun atmosphere with a nice crowd, great drinks & food. Will probably come again tomorrow morning for b'fast.

*original review* I always look for high-end coffee shops when I travel found this place loved it. They had three separate pour overs going which is always a terrific sign, great breakfast menu, staff super pleasant and helpful, attracts a really nice sophisticated crowd. I went twice while we were visiting for the hockey tournament. If I lived here it would be my regular spot.

Really excellent breakfast and easy atmosphere. Prices are high but worth the splurge. We had the light breakfast and the common breakfast. Housemade sausage was great. Nice to have sweet potatoes in the potato mix. Tasty salad. All very tasty and well prepared.
