RoosRoast Coffee

I really wanted to like this place. They have two locations, and I meant to navigate to the other, but ended up here. This location is in an industrial area, but has a lot of from lawn and cool picnic tables. On our visit there were a lot of people outside and it looked like a mini block party. Very low key and everyone was in a good mood.

We picked up a breakfast sandwich which was ok, but the kale on it seemed an odd choice as it has a very specific taste, and not one that gels well with egg and ham IMO. The ginger lemonade looked delicious, but it had a HUGE ginger taste. Seemed way overkill and no one would drink it after we tried it.

The kicker was the Sweet and Spicy pecans. They were neither sweet nor spicy. I'm not sure what happened, but our experience felt like a swing and a miss here.

I love this place so much! The coffee, the service, the people, everything about this place is great. I haven't lived in Ann Arbor since 2014 but upon discovering this coffee shop, I make the commute every weekend for my coffee craving.

Thank you to the nice gentleman who replaced my donut upon dropping it. Very much saved this girl from tearing up in the car.

Great espresso, great beans for home brew, super friendly and awesomely funky atmosphere, my go-to coffee in Ann Arbor!

My boyfriend & I both thought this coffee tasted bad. It made me nauseous too. The vibe of the place is cool but they need more flavors for the lattes.

The staff were amazing and the coffee they serve is probably better than what I can make... Especially that cold brew with that secret in house blend... Perfection!

My go-to spot for coffee in Ann Arbor! I moved here during the pandemic so I haven't properly experienced it, but it's still a fantastic spot. The foundation of a good coffee shop is excellent coffee; simple in concept but hard to nail. I think Roos Roast absolutely nails this. Their selection is fantastic (my personal faves are Rich French Neighbor and Lobster Butter Love) and is well sourced. In my experience, most of their roasts are in the medium-dark range. They've also got great baked treats from other local businesses.

Something that really struck me about the business is their attention to detail and sustainability-- solar panels on the roof, compostable single-use cups. The first time I ever came in, the owner had just ridden in on his bike. He went out of his way to welcome me and was having a great conversation with his employees. To me, this is the mark of a good business and, more importantly, a center of the community. Can't wait to check it out once this pandemic passes!

Loved this coffee shop! I've ordered their beans before, but this was my first chance to visit the actual shop. The staff was incredibly friendly and quick with our order - the coffee was tasty and the potatoe burrito was a nice morning snack. Plenty of outdoor seating for those looking to hang out

I love this place. I usually visit Ann Arbor every summer and fall. Last fall I was introduced to Lobster Butter Love and have had no other coffee in our house since. I order online when we are finishing up our last bag and it arrives in time so there is never a LBL free morning. With every single order, there is a postcard inside the box with a personalized handwritten message and they make me smile every time. No traveling this year for us, so the online ordering is much appreciated. Thanks for being awesome!
