Red's Cafe

The staff at Red Riding Hood's Basket are BEYOND friendly! I stopped in hoping for a little something to bring home. Often I deal with insomnia and find myself awake through breakfast time. I asked the nice young lady if they had something vegetarian to enjoy and she recommended their pastries; even offered to make me a special bagel! I ended up grabbing a toasted bagel, but I felt the warmth of the environment as they were quite busy, and still took the time to make me a little bagel. They even put a couple orange slices in the bag. 😁 I was impressed with their beverage selection- I have to say, the coffee etc is not at all overpriced compared to that of Dunkin or what have you. Look forward to grabbing a coffee that probably tastes way better than the chains too! Thanks guys.

Mom and pop kind of place! Come for the coffee, stay for ambiance.

Food is really tasty and the staff is friendly. But for some reason everytime I get a coffee it tastes watered down.

Wonderful place to take a break from cycling. Good food oriented towards cyclists and a very pleasant atmosphere. My only quibble: sometimes they have the a/c cranked up too high and you can get chilled if you come in sweating. I prefer to eat outside on the porch. I'd give it four 🚴 out of five.

TOTAL Disappointment, biked 20 miles and was looking forward lunch on our fun summer day. Only to be screamed at by the kitchen help (who by the way took her face mask off to make sure we heard her) reached the restaurant at 1230pm, waited patiently on line for 15 minutes only to screamed at the kitchen was closed and not taking food orders. There were at least 10 others behind also waiting. C'mon, a holiday weekend on the bike trail thats very popular and you close the restaurant at lunch time...I know business are trying to stay alive during such a challening time, but that will definitely not help you get repeat business or new business with this kind of review.

I make sure to stop here every time I bike along the bike trail. The atmosphere is great, the food and drinks are excellent and the staff is very friendly. I personally recommend the cookie dough ice cream and the italian soda, and flavor is delicious.

Awesome Egg Based Casserole.
Very nice New England style mom & pop cafe. Limited menu. The Fiesta Bake casserole is very good. Very clean. The only negative is I sat in the dining room not realizing that you had to order at the counter. The waitress passed by several times and might have anticipated my unexpressed needs and kindly point me in the right direction. Easy access and ample parking.

This place is amazing. Their staff is extremely friendly. I got a salted caramel bar and their spinach feta quiche and it was all to die for. Best quiche I have ever had and the caramel bar melted in my mouth. Worth every penny. Check this place out.

Delicious little cafe right at the side of the Southwick Rail trail/ Farmington Canal trail. Great menu selection serving fresh locally sourced food. The chicken salad sandwich was out off this world tasty as was my husband's Big Wolf sandwich. Prices are very reasonable and service was friendly and quick . We will definitely be planning our next bike ride around this cafe!

Good service. Currently food is all packaged takeout only but you can eat there? Slightly odd but what isn't these days? Good food. Convenient if you're a cyclist!
