Hot Chocolate Sparrow

The chocolate sparrow has been a long time local favorite but recently they have been going down hill. Today my fiance and I ordered two simple frappes. After waiting 20 minutes and everyone getting their ice cream before us, we went up and asked and they grabbed it from the back so melted. Behind the register there were five employees all sitting around doing nothing except flirting and laughing with each other. The blond boy with the stupid hair had the worst attitude and was extremely rude. He was either stoned or extremely stupid. I can't wait for summer to be over so tourists can leave and little punks go back to school

My fave place and has been for years!! However stopped today for a latte. Due to allergies I can't have caffeine. I ordered a large single shot decaf soy latte. Even after reiterating that I only wanted one shot of decaf and nothing else she didn't put that. Luckily I caught the person making it before he poured in 3 shots of caffeine. But more importantly I paid $7.42 for this....basically a large cup of steamed soy w one shot of decaf espresso. That's just ridiculous. Anyway it was just disappointing....

UPDATE: Went again today 6/22 and it happened AGAIN! When I asked the lady to get a manager she said she couldn't and that that's the price bc that's the way it is set up in the register! I said but I'm not getting 4 shots!!! I'm getting 1 bc of an allergy. She said there was nothing she could do. Very very disappointing. My friend and I left having bought nothing. Sadly I'm done w this place after having been going there for years.

We love the Sparrow. The food is great and the coffee is very good. Staff is friendly and helpful. It is always busy but you don't have to wait long. I would recommend a visit. The chocolates are made right there and you can watch as they are made. A little small inside but there is some outside seating to enjoy your treats.

Amazing flaky croissant with a big ol chunk of melty chocolate inside. So good I forgot to take a picture! Mocha is incredible too.

Always like stopping at the sparrow for great coffee drinks and treats. Highly recommend the sparrow mocha. They make good chocolate treats and fudge as well.

Ordered the frozen hot chocolate, it was so good. A bit crowded though and hard to find somewhere to stand. The staff were very friendly and understanding.

The worst muffin ever. It doesn't deserve 1 star but it is nothing I can do about it.I now these are tough times, I think it's tougher to find a blueberry in this muffin.

I normally like this place a lot, but I recently had an experience that was both disappointing and concerning. I stopped by to grab two hot chocolates for my partner who works nearby on main street. Service was quick, and I walked all the way down main street with them. Once we tried our drinks, we realized there was hardly any chocolate in them - the beverages were basically white. A bit disappointing for drinks that in total cost nearly 9 dollars, but it happens. So my partner and I walked back to the cafe. By this time, the drinks were cold. After informing the server and asking for the drinks to be remade, they promptly took our cold drinks (that we had each had a few sips of) behind the bar, added chocolate syrup and mixed it in, and handed them back to us.
On top of just being handed cold drinks, as someone who has worked in food service for several years, I was appalled that they just took drinks that had human saliva on them behind their bar counter and used food equipment on them. This is a huge health code violation.
As the server was rather short with us I had no intention of doing this whole thing a third time, so we took our drinks and left. I understand that it can be stressful during busy days and corners will inevitably be cut, but this was unacceptable.

Pick an aesthetic and go with it my God. Willy Wonka meets a boutique cafe. Good cold brew, great chocolate notes. Great iced vanilla latte. Vanilla notes

Love this spot. Great, unique food. Very popular but not a ton of seating. Be ready for a crowd if you go at a peak time.
