Top Mast Cafe

Food was just OK, nothing super special or out of the ordinary. Atmosphere is nice. Quaint and beachy. Service was terrible. Our waiter, Vanko, disappeared after taking our order. Our food was delivered by someone else and our empty plates sat on our table for more than 20 minutes. Eventually we tried to get someone to get Vanko to bring us our check to no avail. Finally, after 30 minutes of waiting we just went to the register to pay. While there, another woman was asking to speak to a manager after having waited for more than an hour for her table's food.

Terrible service tarnishes even the best of food and that was mediocre at best. Will not return.

We went for breakfast. The food was good and came fast but trying to get a cup of coffee was another matter. One person handled the drinks for the entire restaurant, that did not work well.

Great atmosphere, outside seating near the pond, friendly and prompt service. Food was great, whole party got breakfast. Will definitely be visiting again

The EGGS strike again, was looking forward to a bacon and egg sandwich, what a disaster. 30+ minutes to make/wait. $9.00 for a sandwich and some potatoes. Went right to the beach as we had just checked out, opened box on the beach, the sandwiches were not even edible, eggs very runny, barely cooked. VERY DISAPPOINTING, the bagel was a frozen bagel, not even toasted. What a surprise to see other complaints about eggs, should be an easy fix but for some reason they are not getting the feedback.

The Top Mast catered a wedding at the beach recently and it was awesome. The food was delicious - clam chowder, steamed clams, lobster, steak, chicken - really great. And they provided great touches - built a fire, had plenty of blankets (it got a little chilly after the sun went down) and of course tables, chairs, and very accommodating to whatever we needed. Great job.

The Top Mast has changed their management and head chef, updated their decor, and created a new menu. This is such an improvement over last year! Just had Friday night dinner there with a group of friends and we walked out very satisfied with both the meal and the price.

Top Mast is just outside of Ptown, but so worth the short drive. They're open for dinner only on Friday nights. They have a traditional fish fry (or you can have it broiled instead), but also offer a good selection of other items if you're not in the mood for seafood. Everything we tried was great, including the selection of homemade desserts. The staff are friendly and the service was fast. And we were able to talk because it's truly a restaurant, and not a bar that serves food and has loud music.

Best of all, because it's a few minutes outside of Provincetown in North Truro, the prices are very good for the amount of food served. There's plenty of parking, too, which you can't say about most places in Ptown.

If you haven't been to Top Mast yet this year, try it. You won't be disappointed.

Was hoping the other reviewers would be wrong... place was not busy at all with maybe a 1/3 of the tables occupied..but we still waited over 20 mins to get our food order, then someone checked in on us another 20 mins later (I believe they forgot to submit the food order to the kitchen) and finally got our food an hour later. Food quality was ok, nothing special but definitely will not be returning

This place has all the ingredients for a great meal. The staff is what makes this place great along with the awesome food they have and the cleanliness of the place. Definately a go to spot.

We understand these places are busy but we waited an hour 45 minutes to be seated and 45 minutes for our food as we watched people who came in after us get their food, eat and leave. When we finally got our food the order was wrong, honestly didn't look all the appietizing. Ended up leaving upset and hungry.

So, due to covid 19, they are only using the terrace, we unfortunately waited for 45 minutes to receive our food. If they had told us before ordering we would have gone elsewhere. Apparently they only had 2 people in the kitchen when normally they would have 7. The food was ok, but just not worth the 45 minute wait.
