*Tried again recently, still the same as my review 3 years ago.
I would give five stars, but every time I have been in, the staff doesn't even say hello or ask what they can get me. I just get stares as they stand at the register.(Mid-mornings) Great cappuccino, though.

Great coffee shop to grab a drink and a snack and to get some work done! Chill vibes there, good atmosphere. Also their tea and food is very yummy.

Always a nice quiet environment, try their chai tea blender! Their normal coffee is good, it has a somewhat sweeter flavor to it but the coffee is not too light, I would like it to be a bit stronger. Their coffee is better than Dunkin Donuts regardless! Their food a good as well.

I love the Java Room!!! I have had many relaxing hours talking to good friends with Java Room drinks and treats. It is also good to go there alone if you have some computer work to do!!!It is definitely one of my favorite places to go!!!

Totally amazing coffee, even after I let it cool. The best corn chowder I've ever eaten. The space is quiet and elegantly simple.
I'm biased regarding the music because I've played at The Java Room a number of times, and continue to play Saturday (!) jazz brunch regularly, but they do have some wonderful music on weekends. One reason is that the space is open, with good acoustics. Possibly the most important reason is the beautiful Kawai grand piano that they keep in top shape. Those things draw musicians, and good live music deepens the experience for folks who come for food and drink and/or to listen.

This is what a coffee shop should be. Friendly attentive staff with a relaxing, sophisticated and understated atmosphere. I've had business meetings and just relaxed with a cold brew after a workout. Bring a book or a friend and bask in the unpretentiousness of it all.

Came in tonight to for the music from Jazz First. Great music and the coffee and carrot cake was delicious. They also have a very nice wine list.

Great staff and recommendations. This space is with the visit. Allow yourself to be immersed by the energy the space emits. The portions are just right and their large selection of beverages are not too complicated. You'll find something for everyone here!

The Java Room seems to be in an unfortunate state of decline, both physically and in customer service.
I've always had a great experience here, but today I stood at the counter for 5 mins before being acknowledged by the staff member who looked at us several times, but couldn't be bothered to simply say "I'll be with you in a moment".
The tables and chairs were so compacted, it was like trying to navigate a busy nightclub - or maybe more appropriately a rat maze - just to get to my seat.
The entire dining room was filthy, including the rugs; the walls are in a terrible state of disrepair. Most of the seats wouldn't even be acceptable to the Salvation Army because they're so badly worn out. I'll spare you the details of the bathroom, but rust and mildew are present.
The coffee was good, but the pastries not so much.
It was an extraordinarily disappointing visit and I hope they either get their act together or sell to someone who will care for it properly.

One of my favorite cafe is open again. I cannot wait to start going here again. Love the environment and coffee.
