This was our first visit, Saturday. It was great! We arrived at noon, and it was bustling and crowded. We placed our order, easily found a table, and our food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time.
The food was great! The blueberry pancakes were perfection. They were fluffy and delicious. Nice presentation too. The panzanella salad was delightful, with a nice balance of chunk veg, olives, and greens. I asked for it to be dressed with olive oil and topped with salmon. The salmon was not overcooked and warm from the oven. It was a well composed salad w a good presentation.
We had an Americano and a Cappacino. They were prepared quickly. The coffee was good. We bought a box of fresh berries at the counter to nibble on. And Cranberry muffins w citrus peel to take home. The staff, front of house and kitchen, were at their best today!

We love Java Nation , this was my first time at this location, and let me tell you : We Loved It :) , everything was amazing , the ambiance, the crowd , the service and on top of all , the food.
We had the asparagus & goat cheese and the new chef creation : “the lemon crunch croissant ” that was extremely good and very tasty.
Great job Java Nation !

Great dinner experience on a chilly Friday pandemic evening. The star of the show is the outdoor seating, which is really nice with cozy lighting and heat lamps, half of the outdoor seating is in a 3 sided tent and the rest is truly outdoors so you can choose your preference. The live music was an awesome touch. The indoors is well ventilated and people are spaced out comfortably. Food was great!! We had the potato leek soup, the spinach pupusas, pulled pork sandwich, creme brulee, and profiteroles. Also a horchata and an americano. Everything was really tasty and high quality, and I think prices are reasonable for a local business with nice food. The pupusas at $9 for 3 were a particularly great deal, they were so filling and good. Our server had great recommendations and was very friendly. Loved it and going back next weekend.
Edit- we have returned several times and very happy with Java Nation as a new favorite neighborhood restaurant. Live music on Fridays and Saturdays is awesome.

The drinks are small but huge on taste. Food was great. Service is a tad slow and laid back. I would come back,

Wish the space was bigger. Food, drinks, and service were all excellent. I just wish there was more room- too many campers with their laptops.

Great food! I ordered a burger and was so thrilled to see a thin bun!!!
The only reason I didn't give the atmosphere a 5 is because it is so LOUD inside. My friend sat outside because of this.

Update 4/22/2020: It looks like they've re-revamped their menu to include all of the awesome things I was originally excited about - great Latin food (pupusas, empanadas), sandwiches, and all-day breakfast items like crepes, French Toast, and even a Monte Cristo (which I'm pumped to try next time). They also have fresh juices and smoothies, in addition to the usual coffee drinks. They're still serving take-out and delivery during the current events - you can place an order via Ubereats or by calling them directly (I recommend calling them directly if you can, so they don't have to pay the huge fees to Ubereats).
Original Review: I am so excited that this local café has opened within walking distance of my home - based on my first experience there today, I already know I will be a regular. The pupusas were excellent (I tried one of each of the three flavors: chicken, spinach, and beans) and there are plenty of tables with a nice atmosphere and arrangement - great for quiet focus or for chatting with friends. The patio area is quite large and, though it does not yet have any tables, I can imagine it being very nice once the weather warms up and they get it set up.
My only disappointment was that I had seen that their online menu listed smoothies, but they don't actually have any smoothies - I asked the girl at the counter whether that was just because of the soft opening, but she didn't seem to know. Their menu board doesn't seem to have a placeholder for any smoothies, so I'm not sure whether that's something they'll actually ever have.
Since their actual menu differs from their online menu, I've included photos of their actual menu with this review.
Overall, this is an incredible addition to the area and I'm so happy that there is finally a business in this spot that I see myself visiting often (the previous tenants, Addie's and Helen's, were both very overpriced).

This used to be my favorite Bethesda coffee spot. Unfortunately, it seems with the growth in popularity, quality of food has gone down and menu prices have gone up.
Spent almost $70 on breakfast and coffee for my boyfriend and I - my sandwich was half empty and I watched the barista top off (a third of the mug) my $7 pour over coffee with water (maybe didn't have the time to complete the pour over?) ....needless to say, it was dilute and disappointing.

I was prompted to leave a tip at an over-the-counter restaurant. I didn't and I got my food but not my espresso, hence the reason I don't tip at over-the-counter places. I had to wait in line for another 15 minutes. Not a place that offers tip-worthy service. The food was just ok. If I wanted more syrup for my French toast I would have to wait in line. Not the breakfast place for me.
