We stopped here by chance on our way back home from a trip to Morgantown, and we were pleasantly surprised. We asked the woman working about their vegan food options, and she was was very helpful. They made us the roasted veggie panini with hummus. They also had a vegan butternut squash soup, and they had a veggie burger, which they offered to make with hummus instead of cheese. They have almond, soy, coconut, and oat milk options. It wasn't the best food I've ever had, but I was really grateful to have options and a knowledgeable staff member who was happy to accommodate us. If you're vegan or vegetarian, I'd highly recommend this spot for breakfast or lunch.

Amazing breakfast and lunch options, especially for vegetarians. While biking on GAP, I went to Mountain City Coffeehouse a couple of times. First time I had waffle and cappuccino, which were very good. Second time I had potato soup and veggie burger. Veggie burger was very well made and yummy. Potato soup was the best potato soup I have ever had. In fact, I could not imagine that potato soup could be made so yummy!
It takes about 10 min from GAP trail to get to this place, but it is worth it if you need to refuel or want to simply explore a cute little cafe in a cute little town.

What a delight to visit this place again with my sister!
We came here October 23 during our 90 minute break coming off the Western Maryland Scenic railroad excursion, as we also did two years ago.
Amit is the owner and a lot of fun to engage in conversation and friendly banter with. He was one of the highlights of our trip for sure!
The pastries were EXCEPTIONAL!!! We ordered a variety of baked goods from cookies, to the coffee cake, banana nut bread, and a scone. There also sandwiches, soups, vegan options, and lattes.
This is a gem of a spot, especially for the train layover !

I stopped here with my two young boys on a drive from Pennsylvania to Virginia. It was a perfect little rest stop for us! The food was good and well priced. There was a little patio out front for them to stretch their legs. It was clean, and plenty of seating. The woman was very friendly. I highly recommend stopping here, instead of a chain or fast food restaurant on your drive. We will stop here again. (And for anyone else needing the information, there is a library across the street. We enjoyed our lunch, and then walked across to the library to read and play for a bit before we continued to drive.)

Cozy little café with soft acoustic music on stream and a really wide variety of snacks and meal items to boot. I love sitting in the sunshine either outside or in their window seats. Coffee is tasty and they make whatever you want to order by hand. They have a refrigerated section for non coffee drinks to purchase, fresh baked goods, and gluten free as well as vegan options. They always have a vegetarian special and you can find something substantial and delicious to eat whether you have $5 or $20 to spend on yourself. Always a favorite with me and my family.

Great place for coffee or a lovely vegan bite to eat. Everyone is very nice. They REALLY understand allergens which puts my mind at ease. The only place around where I can eat and not worry that I will have an allergic reaction. I also love the fact that I can put soy milk into my own coffee and not be charged extra because I like coffee a bit on the "milky" side. I recommend Mountain City Cafe to everyone!

Unique cozy place. Food was very delicious. Will visit again when in the area.

I'm sure it's a wonderful cafe, but whom in their right mind closes a coffee shop at 1400? All the moreso for a place that serves ice cream. If it's trying to be a "third place", then wouldn't you extend the operating hours until well into the evening? For comparison, coffee shops in Seattle won't close until 2100.

17,000 stars! You might remember us as the "Amanda Order' or the guy who could not pay with his phone :) This was our first trip to visit our freshman daughter(with her grandparents in tow, so this should be a double review) and this was the ONLY place she wanted to go. I may need your chipotle chicken panini recipe, btw. Everyone worked so hard and fast, all with a smile during such a busy time. We knew the wait would be worth it when EVERY patron remained patient with the staff and did not mind the line. So worth it and thank you for bringing a shining ending to our first Frostburg visit

Nice location, great food. The paninis were very good, and so was the Asian garden salad. Everything was very fresh and the spices were well done. Worth the bike ride up from the Gap trail. (We also liked the ice cream.)
