Great atmosphere. Cozy spot. We love the outdoor space they have set up since the pandemic. It's something we all didn't know we needed. They had a big bowl of water for our pups too! Our neighborhood hangout.

Ordered a cold brew, muffin, and a savory crepe. Great flavors and great service! Fair warning they are generous with their crepe portions.. I wasn't able to finish mine even though it tasted delicious :)

Their chai is my favorite in town! Really tasty baked goods too

Gem of a breakfast place! If you are looking for a local restaurant to enjoy a nice breakfast in the backdrop of scenic Ellicott City downtown, then definitely consider Old Mill Cafe as one of the options. The omelettes are delicious and so is the pancake and the awesome muffins.

I typically always enjoy my experience at Old Mill Cafe. The staff is always pleasant and welcoming. But last Saturday I had a different experience that didn't sit well with me. I arrived with my boyfriend and his brother (who is small for his age) who was visiting us from out of town. I was excited to take him to Old Mill Cafe for some breakfast. When my boyfriend's brother ordered a cappuccino he was asked if he wanted decaf and we said no thank you. The woman then proceeded to make blatant judgmental facial expressions as if she had a problem with his order.
There is not a minimum drinking age for coffee nor is it anyone's place to judge others and their orders. I was very disappointed by this interaction.
UPDATE: I recently went to Old Mill again after they reached out to make it right. When I stopped in, the owner recognized the drink voucher I was using and remembered the situation and apologized for it again and didn’t charge me for my drink or sandwich. Very kind! Will definitely be back after this pleasant experience.

I hate to say it, but I won't be back. I've gone several times now to make sure I'm judging it fairly but every time I've gone, the service has been cold and unwelcoming. It's unfortunate reading reviews where others experience friendly conversation and smiles during their time there, because I've experienced quite the opposite. It would be one thing dealing with bad service if the food and coffee were actually worth it, but unfortunately everything is very lackluster and bland.
I give it 2 stars for the cute outdoor patio.

Clean friendly and the food taste great. Went at 1pm for brunch and coffee. Couldn't leave without the blueberry and a cranberry muffin to take with. Remodeled "old style" restaurant at the base of Main Street, Ellicott City. You will like!

Really nice coffee shop. Crossing the bridge feels like a long walk but it’s not. Try the double chocolate muffins. Only a few tables inside, so plan accordingly. Good espresso machine.

Great customer service and coffee. But if you're going for the crepes, like I was, save yourself the time. You're going to get a dry thin pancake that you can pick up and eat like ax sandwich. A very dry sandwich because there's barely any toppings. Disappointing.
