we were out visiting the town from new york and were craving some coffee and bagels (and toast), and this place really hit the spot. the service was far better than some of the service we have received at other cafes. the employees were extremely friendly, hospitable, and welcoming engaging in kind conversation as we waited for our order. and about the food . . . some of the best we have had. highly recommend the variety of unique flavors of toast, the hot chocolate (even in the summertime), and the everything bagel with cream cheese . . . they’ll make you want to go back for more! overall i would have to say a 10/5 star rating!

This place was the best! The barista knew what they were doing. Coffee was strong/smooth with just the right amount of sweetness. There were delicious cookies/pastries available. There was also a small but well curated gift shop.
You gotta stop by here. You won’t regret it!

Nice little Cafe with great coffee drinks and smoothies. Try the barrel aged cold brew. Aged in old bourbon barrels, it has a nice smoky flavor. Very nice patio area out back.

A definite STOP!! We ordered the mushroom n Chèvre and the The Gertie, Matcha Latte and Tea. Good prices, absolutely delicious, quaint store. We’re visiting from Florida and will definitely be back!!

I love the curated selection of little things here. Mugs, tea towels, books… and I love stopping. The drinks aren’t 100% but the atmosphere makes it worth it anyway. I had an odd experience, however, that makes me uneasy. I purchased a few kids books, tea towels, and napkins in addition to breakfast and coffees. At the time, no one else was there and we sat out back, and we even chatted with the owner for a bit. When we left, I forgot the bag of the items I had just purchased. I called the store, I emailed - nothing. Stopped in on the way home two days later, and they didn’t know what I was talking about but the owner wasn’t there. They didn’t apologize, and all of the items were back out for sale. A few of the things were very specific handmade pieces, so I know they weren’t just “restocked”. I continued to contact them but no one ever got back to me and I wasn’t refunded. I know, my own fault for sure , but for me it’s the fact that everything was put back out on the shelves!

I turned my car around because the “shop local” sign got me. I got a mocha, and it was so good! Also they have OAT MILK (for a very reasonable upcharge of 50¢) and it made for the creamiest drink ever. The space is bright and cheery. I’ll be back for sure.

I've been looking forward to Birches opening since their sign went up earlier on this summer. This is the cutest like cafe and market and exactly what this part of Route 1 needed. It's clean, full of Maine-made products and the coffee is out of this world. I tried an iced latte with oat milk and candied sesame flavor shot today - so delicious! Will definitely be coming back soon.

The staff here are absolutely wonderful. They were so friendly, allowed me to sit on the patio with my dogs, and were very hospitable. Definitely coming here again next time I pass by. Highly recommend :)

Very pretentious and overpriced. The avacado "toast" was just bread, the bagel sandwich was very small and expensive and was reheated in a microwave! The sandwich was bland and the egg was rubbery. Also the bagel was not toasted.
Very friendly service, cute atmosphere, but I think I think this is for rich out of staters on vacation.

My husband and I we're on our way back to FL driving from Acadia and we pulled into this coffee bar. I am a coffee enthusiasts, I have to say this was our favorite coffee spot we have ever been to and that's saying alot for how much we travel. The outside is absolutely gorgeous, the bathroom is extremely clean, the inside is so cozy and welcoming. The owner is extremely nice and makes amazing coffee!!! Cute things to purchase through out the market as well! We were saying how we wish we lived in Maine just for this coffee bar.
