What can I say? I'm a sucker for old school diners. Red vinyl booths, food served on plastic plates, cash only, nothing fancy. Portions are big, food is delicious, staff know their stuff and are quick. Perfection!
Get the blueberry jam. It's not homemade here, but it is local and apparently available to buy at Hannaford the waitress told us 😉

Owner very friendly and she first handily took care of her customers. However slow maybe because it was packed. Nice music 🎶 and I could just sit all day listening. Food in good portion. Good food selection.

A must visit gem in Ellsworth! The crabmeat Eggs Benedict was a mouthwatering creative take, and the homemade strawberry/rhubarb pie perfectly rounded out the meal. Prices are very reasonable and service efficient and professional. Martha herself is " in the house" interacting with regulars and keeping the place humming.
A couple of important details for first time visitors: 1. This is a breakfast and lunch place, closes by 1p or 2 pm depending on the day. Once Martha puts the high chair holding the "closed" sign by the door, you're out of luck. However customers still working on their meals inside are not rushed or pressured to finish up. 2. Cash only, no credit cards, no exceptions.
I'll be back next time I'm in the area, wish it were closer to home!

Quintessential breakfast place. We aren't talking a five star fancy dining experience, we are talking 5 star local breakfast place. Food as you'd expect, prepared as you'd expect, served by waitresses who have the right experience and attitude.

Highly recommend!! Wonderful breakfast and friendly staff. Hearty, homemade food. The homemade bread was so good! We went 2 days in a row. Carol was our waitress and she was so cheerful and fun. Great way to start the day!

Excellent place for breakfast. The locals appear to eat here. I had an egg , ham and cheese breakfast sandwich with an extra egg. My husband had an omelet. 2 coffees. We both commented on how good the ham was. The bill was $21. What a deal. It was a rainy day and they were busy. We had about a 15 minute wait. Note you can only pay with cash or a local check. We would eat here again.

Amazing food and service. Just had the best crab and cheddar quiche I have ever tasted, and my dad was a chef. Everything is homemade. This little gem is worth a visit. It is cash only and open Wednesday through Sunday for breakfast and lunch.

The breakfast was the best I’ve had all week traveling. I had ham and eggs and the ham was so tender it melted in your mouth. The potatoes were not fried but gently grilled. It was an amazing experience.
