Stopped in Brunswick briefly on our way to Portland and omg, this place made us wish we booked an Airbnb here instead! From a Kali Ma statue to random framed pictures of Bill Murray, or Christmas lights and New Orleans beads, there’s no shortage of freaking cool things to look at. Then, last but not least theres some BOMB coffee and even more stellar service to rave about. Tried one of the house specials, the cafe bonbon. OMG, it tasted like a coconut Vietnamese coffee. Did not expect that but loved it. Now I understand why a coffee shop on such a sleepy quiet street had a long line out the door. While we waited, couldn’t help but overhear the hilarious conversations between the owner and customers; almost felt as if there was no wait, everyone was treated like friends and family, both locals and tourist passers by alike! Bonus: there’s a nice outdoor patio in the back

We ordered three drinks that were amazing. Double caramel cappuccino, americano, and a regular cappuccino that did not need anything. The locally sourced milk and other products certainly make for great drinks.
We look forward to going back to try the other flights that are available.

After reading all the reviews, I was excited to try Dog Bar Jim. Everyone was very nice there, but the cafe bombón, the breakfast “hand pie,”and pork sandwich were all just okay. I wouldn’t go back, but I’m glad I tried it.

Come here and you’ll never go to Starbucks or Dunkin again. Great atmosphere, excellent coffee, exceptional pastries (when available). Ben is a great conversationalist. Even when he is not behind the bar, you feel comfortable enough to discuss anything from the weather to politics, vacations, diseases, and anything in between. Love supporting businesses like this.

I live in Brooklyn, the land of coffee shops. This is what every coffee shop aspires to be. Amazing coffee; great food; first-rate friendly service. It is the best coffee i have ever had and no pretension. The owner works his tail off and is always cheerful. Go early, the lines are long once the Bowdoin students wake up.

Dog Bar Jim is the best local coffee shop in the Midcoast. The owner is a sole proprietor and operator and knows his stuff w/r/t coffee, with many years of experience in the arena. His cortados are properly strong, intense, and just the right amount of milk to tackle the natural acidity of the espresso. Great brewed coffee choices as well as baked goods and breakfast items. The establishment has a casual vibe and is equally suitable for regulars and visitors. You can't go wrong here. Great location in the eminently walkable and charming Brunswick. Not far from Bowdoin College, Maine State Music Theatre and Maine Street.

The best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had, no joke. Also really cute eclectic cozy inside, and the owner Ben is so nice & personable!!
