Delicious food ๐Ÿ˜‹ and prompt kitchen service ๐Ÿ‘Œ thank you ๐Ÿ‘ Literally The ONLY reason I'm not able to Give you All a five star is because we had to wait over Thirty minutes to find our Waiter to Ask for our check ๐Ÿ˜ Although, I must say He was a decent Waiter! I think he had to many tables at the same time! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Overall, it was a good Brunch experience๐Ÿคฉ
I Do recommend you check it out when they open Again in April! As their closing for a month! ๐Ÿ˜•
I will be back again!
& I Hope to see the attention to Customer's, at The end of their meal, is addressed with the Wait staff ๐Ÿ‘
..I think The staff started their month off a Day too Soon!๐Ÿ˜‰

Everything was amazing!!! Coffee, sweets, savory, and service were all superb! Loved the ambience. My friend and I sat in a cute booth and felt so comfy that we could have stayed all day and ate the whole menu! Highly recommend! We visited on a Saturday morning and left with some goodies from the bakery. Parking was challenging but worth it. Hope to be able to visit again sometime!

We had a brunch for six. The menu was nice, and the woman who took our oder was pleasant. My cousin ordered three eggs over easy, only received two. After we received our food, we never saw a server again . We never had our water or our refilled. My husband left his credit card with the hostess when we arrived and asked her not to present the check, just run the credit card and add 20 percent tip. We never saw the woman who took our order again. Someone else served the food and brought the completed bill. Fortunately, they didnโ€™t add the 20 percent tip. The fried potatoes were a couple days old, and all the meals were less than remarkable.

This restaurant was clean and nicely decorated, plenty of seating and polite staff. I had a sandwich as did my husband. We were happy with our food. Great taste and plenty of food for the price. Our server was sweet and prompt.

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2022: I had lunch with my husband here this week. Both our food and the service wereTERRIFIC!

The information about the shortened menu I mentioned in an earlier review was explained by the gracious manager. The shortened menu is only used on days when they are short staffed in the kitchen. She stated that they used it only a handful of times earlier in the summer. They post the information on Facebook and have signs outside the restaurant. I give them thumbs up for even opening with one kitchen staff member.

Mae's has gone through an ownership change, COVID, staffing crises, etc. The entire front staff, wait staff and the kitchen deserve a huge round of applause...thanks for keeping up with the all around quality!

Update JULY 2022: Mae's has changed ownership. The local newspaper interviewed the new owner who stated that they would keep personnel and the menu.

I have not been recently but heard that a new chef has joined the restaurant and that the menu has changed dramatically. Fewer selections and less variety.

COVID is still affecting businesses and I think Mae's is likely a good example. After the re-opening, higher prices, changing staff and fewer staff are behind the changes.

Patience everyone, let's wish them luck.

Previous post:

We've eaten brunch at Mae's two or three times. The food has been good, fresh, and served hot. The eggs are very fresh and flavorful. Portions are big and I always bring leftovers home.

We had our elderly dog with us on the outside deck. She got a big bowl of water and lots of positive attention. Our wait staff have been gracious and attentive each visit.

I've seen some other reviews which contained negative comments. That has NOT been our experience. We know locals who come to Mae's frequently.

Had the scramble with eggs, spinach, feta and lamb sausage....yum! I'll be back again. They ran out of potatoes, no problem... so they offered fresh fruit.

I came here for an outing with my parents who recommended this place, and was pleased with my experience. We all came here for breakfast. I had the Destroyer omelette with fresh fruit, multi-grain bread and oj. The omelette was great and delicious and the oj was freshly squeezed. The view outside was interesting because you could see both the courthouse and everyday Maine life. The service was excellent too. Would recommend.

We eat out a lot. This place probably serves the best breakfast I have ever had in my 58 years. If I could give it six stars, I would. My wife had the homemade lamb sausage scramble and I had the corned beef hash. This is the way food ought to be. None of those tiny cubes of corned beef. This had tons of the most tender, lean corned beef with soft cooked potatoes, two eggs over easy and multigrain bread. Honestly, I will drive hours out of my way to eat here again.

Most excellent corned beef hash, but i wish they had turned the heat on.
We had to wear our jackets.
