“Slice of Eden” better known as “ slice of functioning prefrontal cortex”. After ordering your grab and go coffee and snack that literally has zero preparation other than to have it handed over to you, be prepared to wait for EVERY OTHER ORDER in front of you regardless of size or complexity to be fully completed and then handed off to other customers before you will finally receive your own. All the blue haired wackos running the line must be inspired by the socialist dystopia they all desperately seem to want to be a part of. 0 out of 10, won’t coffee and donut again.

a local favorite. Delicious pastries, world-class cakes and tasty things that you can only pronounce correctly if you're from France. Plus the crafty coffee items you'd expect AND amazing sandwiches and soups and the BEST original Bar Harbor bagel recipe. Plus the nicest people ever. Make a point to stop here and get your early breakfast after the Cadillac sunrise.

Enjoying our first trip to Bar Harbor, A Slice of Eden was recommended to us for a breakfast stop. We visited and kept it simple, coffee and bagels with salmon cream cheese. Both were excellent. On our 2nd visit we ordered breakfast sandwiches, a bagel with egg, ham & cheddar and a croissant with egg, ham & swiss and coffees. Again - excellent. So we grabbed some pecan sticky buns, 2 creme puffs and a chocolate mocha cake. It was all outstanding and I think this was my favorite "new discovery" for our trip. Everything has been top notch and we will certainly visit again.

This beautiful cafe is right on the main strip of Cottage Street. The service was excellent and the barista knows their coffee. The two roasts they had for drip brew were Black & Tan (medium roast) and Sumatra (dark roast). The coffee was delicious, and milk and half & half were available for us to pour ourselves. Even though we did not purchase any of the baked goods, they certainly looked exquisite!

Coffee and food were good. A huge plus was that this place opens earlier than most around (6am).
Not thrilled with their tactic of asking in front of everyone “would you like to leave a tip?” Not very tactful and pressures everyone to leave a tip, taking away the choice.
If you want a more respectful way of doing it, do what most places do and just turn the credit card device toward the customer without asking anything and let the customer decide for themselves

Wow- best Maine blueberry pie this trip. It’s a crumble top with perfect tender and flaky crust and delicate crumble. Chock full of blueberries and their flavor really comes through. Bravo! Also, iced coffee was good and strong. Bagel sandwich with homemade pretzel bagel really exceeded expectations- if I lived here, would be hard for me to go anywhere else! Thanks Slice of Eden!

Small shop that’s good for breakfast. My friends enjoyed the breakfast bagel and croissants. Not a lot of seating available though

Jason made the most beautiful custom wedding cake for our reception. I gave him only a couple pictures of inspiration and he beyond exceeded my expectations. It was absolutely stunning and delicious! Many guests gave us compliments on its flavor and design. I highly recommend a Slice of Eden for any custom wedding cake. Jason and his staff are kind, personable, and responsive. I love supporting small businesses, especially ones like this whom are truly deserving and one-of-a-kind!

Awesome breakfast location!! Service was quick, and breakfast was nice and light. Really appreciated the fair prices, my husband and I both got a small breakfast and fancy coffees for under $20. Definitely the perfect place to go for a quick morning bite!

Usually, I do not review places I go to, but the service at the Slice of Eden restaurant was unnacceptable. Our family was in need of a lunch meal waliing the streets of Bar Harbor, so we visited some restaurants, all of which were closed, other than Slice of Eden, which was open during that time. However, upon entering and finalizing our order, the cashier came up to us and announced that the kitchen had closed, an hour before the posted closing time on the door and on Google. Although they had taken the previous order, we were practically shoved out of the restaurant verbally. Hurt, we had to take our business elsewhere. Though it looked delicious that day, we had to pass on their food because we were not allowed a meal. Compared to the fabulous service elsewhere in Maine, there was not an ounce of kindness in this store that enticed us to even come back.
Coming to Maine, we dreamed of a delicious blueberry pie during our trip. However, all of the restaurants made it with eggs, and Slice of Eden was the only one with a Vegan pie. However, upon getting the pie we craved, another terrible service job awaited us. No plates were given to us, so we had to eat on napkins, which ended up staining one of our party's shirts. Also, upon the request to warm the pie up, which had been baked the same morning, we were denied, stating that "it [the pie] was good enough". The same response was given to our request for whipped cream on the side. Turns out, the pie was not as enjoyable as it could have been had our simple requests been granted. Thus, I strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant, because any other local business along the streets of Bar Harbor would better deserve a customer's business rather than this place. Maine's loving and warm reception elsewhere need not be tarnished by the rude behavior here.
