Has been my favorite coffee shop since I moved back into the Carrolton/Riverbend Area in 2009. Super-funny and witty Baristas, and great Fair-Trade Organic Coffee. Wonderful decor and laid-back environment where you can be yourself, meet great people, and share new ideas. Amazing Art all over the walls, Sweet custom murals in both bathrooms, and one out in the back patio that is in progress. These folks are doing New Orleans culture a solid!!

Great coffee, unique vibe. Usually great experience, however, theres a major attitude problem with the tall guy who works in AM. Seems to discriminate based on people's appearances. Very inappropriate and embarrassing.

I was walking down the street about to go in and grab coffee. It was later at night and looked pretty empty. As I was walking up on the shop there was a young blonde girl eating a sandwich and on her phone in front of the shop.
Suddenly, out of nowhere a thin white woman in her early thirties with brown, straight hair, that was pulled up, who was dressed like a hobo starts screaming at the blonde girl that she is a barista there and that the tables are for paying customers only (mind you the coffee places was basically completely empty and the girl was the only one at any of the tables). The lady keeps going on and on, being like how dare you eat food that isn't ours on our property. The blonde girl was really apologetic and moved her stuff away quickly and sat on the sidewalk. I felt terrible, she seemed really nice and introverted. The hobo lady continued to yell a bit more then walked down the street looking proud of herself.
At 1st I thought the incident was so bizarre and the lady looked so disheveled that I thought maybe she was a crazy homeless person who didn't actually work here. I went on yelp though and decided this was not the case as many people mention a barista with an attitude problem. I left right away after this. I will not give my money to a company that thinks it is okay to treat people this way! People don't ever deserve to be screamed at in an unhinged, berating fashion.
Anyhoo, at least I only wasted like a dollar on parking.

The chess is just as great as the atmosphere and the coffee! It all reminds me of the Sistine Chapel mixed with a Folger's Moment with friends playing chess, except not as grand and with better coffee. Oh and all the people studying with their own lamps.

Superb coffee in an artistic shop full of life. Oozes depth and let's you get into whatever headspace you need.

Zotz has more room inside than you might expect from the outside. There's even an outdoor patio in the very back. The coffee, tea, and pastries are all good, and they offer quite a few varieties of iced tea.

Zotz is my go to study place. I have probably frequented the peculiar joint over 30 times. With that being said, it is no where near my favorite. Objectively, Zotz has the best hours in the entire city and, arguably, the most creative drink menu. What it offers in creativity, it lacks in consistency. Every barista makes a drink differently, I know that. However, Zotz, in particular, strays from barista training and allows for complete freedom-- too much freedom. This type of freedom coincides with the LGBT crowd which the coffee shop boasts. When it comes to drinks though, inconsistency is their wheelhouse. Some baristas make drinks too sweet to indulge while others go heavy on the ice and light on the liquid. The inability to produce quality, consistent beverages makes Zotz 2nd tier. If you want phenomenal coffee and staff, French Truck is the move. If you want quirky, yet oddly apathetic, baristas and inconsistent performance, Zotz is your cup of tea (or coffee if that's more your thing.) While on the topic of tea, their menu is extensive and delicious. Zotz is the queen of tea and the jester of coffee. But their hours sure do make up for it.

A coffee shop unlike any other in NOLA. The selections of coffees, teas, and pastries are pretty great but it's the bohemian, "alternative-culture" type feel to this place that makes it a great place to hang out.

Zotz is a great study cafe with a chill atmosphere, but lately the service has become surly (and not in that cool punk way) and the prices have increased. It costs nearly 8 bucks for a stale croissant and a hot house coffee. I guess it's a fair price if you use the cafe as an office 8 hours a day, but I expect the food to be better at that price. Coffee is still good.

Unique coffee shop with a very welcoming staff and a chill environment. Their coffee is amazing and you can buy bags of it at the shop.
