This place has a lot in its favor: excellent coffee, good selection of beverages and food, great vibe, anemities like board games, and a great location.
But I will never return due to how unfriendly the barista who helped me was. I had to pay with my phone, and the barista asked me to wait. Several seconds later, the barista stopped inputting into the Square kiosk and I began to tap my phone. Apparently she wasn't ready, as her churlish "Can you wait?" and eye rolling followed. In her defense, I was early (albeit with good reason), but the unfriendliness was enough to keep me away from the place.
Also, in defense of the place, there may be great people that work there, and even the barista I interacted with may have been having a bad day. However, seeing as I'm not the only one who mentioned rudeness or unfriendliness in my review, I think it's a pretty good bet. Why risk being treated poorly--just to get some coffee--when the equally good and always friendly Rue de la Course is right down the sidewalk?

THE Uptown coffeehouse, complete with quirky regulars. Good prices, nice batistas, house board games and books for borrowing. A+ wall art too.
Good luck getting a table during exam time though - students from nearby colleges colonize the place.

The barista loudly compared me to being an alcoholic in front of a packed house after my third cup in about 5 hours. There's a place down the road I'll go to from now on. Too bad, I really did like this place. It's a nice, just don't drink too much coffee at a coffeehouse.

Really fun, unique coffee shop. There is always something new you will find on their walls. I usually get one of their teas. A nice spot to study or just a hangout.

The service was great! Everything was well priced. The decor was so eccletic and interesting. The stain glass door was really neat. Our barista was super friendly and helpful. He was patient with all of our questions. I would definitely recommend this place.

Zots is a hipstery, cozy cafe with some good drinks. I don't drink caffeine for medical reasons, so I enjoy the blackberry ice tea. It's probably the best herbal tea I've gotten from any coffee place in NOLA.
The staff are usually awkward, but friendly. Pretty much what you would expect from a place of this nerdy-ish nature. Also, their wifi is pretty fast which is nice.

Baristas are very welcoming and helpful! The atmosphere is super cool and spooky, right up my alley. The green tea with pear is a must!

I love this place! It's groovy and funky. The artwork is fabulous and the baristas are top notch. I travel from Uptown and pass many other coffee shops to go here.

This coffee shot is a hipster hangout, which is no surprise to find on Oak Street. There are 3 room, 2 bathrooms, a couple of chairs and tables outside for smokers and a patio in the back with more tables and chairs (he patio is not amazing though). The bar tender on Friday nights is energetic and quirky with a lot of nerdy sayings, but we like him and he certainly isn't boring. Zotz has table games/board games on shelves for people to play. There's a lot going on on the walls. There's art work and hipster stuff everywhere. If you enter to get work done and have ADHD, you might not get much! Lol. It's a nice change from the other coffee in the area, which I also like. However, Zotz stays open until 1-2am, depending on how busy they are! I'm not aware of any other coffee shops in that area that stay open late.
