Best coffee in the city. Bicycle parking & close to bus route.

If there's a better coffee shop in town they're doing a banging job of keeping it a secret.

Dear St. Coffee. A customer rewards card is a great invention. It works something like this; Customer gets a card and for every cup he buys he gets closer to a free cup of coffee. Once he has bought a number of cups ranging from 8 to 12 the customer comes and feels appreciated because now he gets a free cup of coffee.

I thought I should share this with you after I found out you misunderstood the point of them rewards cards. You are not supposed to have the customer pay for his "free" cup of coffee. It will not make the customer feel rewarded. The customer will feel like he has just been had and be disappointed.

Wish you all the best in your marketing adventures but I guess Ill be going back to the Orange Couch on Royal and Mandeville. They dont have a rewards card but I think ill manage (they are cheaper so it comes out to be the same, free cup of coffee every 12 cups or so).

On my first visit to St Coffee I scan the menu, then approach the counter to order my favorite drink, a caramel macchiato. St Coffee has both machiatos and flavored syrups on the menu, so I thought they could accommodate the request. When I ask for my drink I am told by the clerk “we do not make those Starbucks drinks.” The clerk then points to a small framed picture of a saint, adjacent to the register, and says “You see, this is St Coffee.”

Thoroughly confused, I settle for a regular macchiato. My girlfriend, who had accompanied me, orders a bagel. Strangely, the clerk asks us if there are any bagels left, gesturing to a metal container that she herself can see. There aren’t any there, but another clerk points out that there are bagels behind the counter. The clerk assisting us looks at the bagels, pauses, and turns to tell us “We aren’t doing bagels right now.”

I pay, and tip generously, as a courtesy of it being my first time. Then we wait on my machiato for 15 mins, all the while a clerk wrongly calls out that my “caramel machiato” is almost ready. My machiato tasted remarkable, although it had an unusual amount of grounds.

Personally, I find the establishment, or perhaps its employees, to be pretentious. I believe I was given bad service because the clerk assisting me formed an opinion of me. Another small coffee shops that has flavored syrups, MonkeyMonkey, has no issue accommodating a caramel machiato.

Stayed in air bnb down the street. Came into and ordered coffee and fritters. The woman running counter was preparing coffee and had her backed turn when I dropped money in tip jar. Really didn’t think it would matter if she saw me put the money in jar. Jesus was I wrong! She starts talking to the customer behind us saying that she hates air bnb people they never tip and are ruining her town. Mind you she saying this as we are walking out. Really shocked of the unprofessionalism and rudeness obviously she only wants local money and wants to be petty over tips. Maybe she put a sign on the door saying local only and tip required.
